Light - Side Repeater - Front - LH (Remove and Replace)

Remove

Warning
Whenever a camera has been moved out of its original position (for example, a camera or windshield replacement), camera calibration data must be cleared using the vehicle touchscreen: Controls > Service > Camera Calibration > Clear Calibration.
  1. Open the LH front door and lower the LH front window.
  2. Enable Service Mode by using the touchscreen. See Service Mode.
  3. Apply protective tape to the LH front fender around the LH front side repeater light.
  4. Release the clips (x2) at the bottom of the LH front side repeater light that attach the light to the LH front fender, and then separate the light from the fender.

    CAUTION
    If reinstalling the same side repeater, take care not to damage the mounting tabs.

    Note
    Carefully push the side repeater upwards and pry the bottom out to release it from fender. The number of clips may vary.
  5. Disconnect the electrical harness from the LH front side repeater light connectors (x2), and then remove the light from the vehicle.

Install

  1. Connect the electrical harness to the LH front side repeater light connectors (x2).
  2. Firmly install the LH front side repeater light into the LH front fender, secure the clips that attach the light to the fender.

    CAUTION
    If reinstalling the same side repeater, make sure the mounting tabs and clips are not damaged. If any of the tabs or clips is damaged, replace the repeater.

    Note
    The number of clips may vary.
  3. Remove the protective tape from the LH fender around the LH front side repeater light.
  4. On the touchscreen, tap Vehicle Info > Driver Assist > Cameras > Reset DAS, and follow the prompt to run the routine.
  5. For HW4 cameras:
    1. Locally connect a laptop with Toolbox 3 to the vehicle. See Toolbox 3 (Connect and Disconnect).
    2. Unlock the vehicle gateway. See Gateway (Unlock).
    3. In Toolbox, click the Actions tab, search for "calibration mode", and then Run the DAS Enter Calibration Mode routine.

      Note
      DAS Calibration mode will time out at 5 minutes.
    4. Click the Actions tab, and then search for "Side repeater"
    5. Click PING-HTTP_DAS_L_REPEATER-CAMERA-SCRIPT, enter "100" for the routine timeout, and then click Run.
    6. Disconnect Toolbox 3. See Toolbox 3 (Connect and Disconnect).
  6. Exit the Service Mode. See Service Mode.
  7. Raise the LH front window and close the LH front door.
  8. Inform the customer that manual driving is now required to self-calibrate the camera.

    Note
    Self-calibration can take up to 100 miles (160 km) of manual driving, depending upon the road type and condition. Until self-calibration is complete, the message "Autopilot Features Currently Unavailable: Manual Driving Required While Camera Is Calibrating" is displayed if an attempt is made to engage an Autopilot feature.
