Hose - Chiller to HV Battery (RHD) (RWD) (Remove and Replace)
Correction code 18302432 0.78 NOTE: Unless otherwise explicitly stated in the procedure, the above correction code and FRT reflect all of the work required to perform this procedure, including the linked procedures. Do not stack correction codes unless explicitly told to do so.NOTE: See Flat Rate Times to learn more about FRTs and how they are created. To provide feedback on FRT values, email LaborTimeFeedback@tesla.com. NOTE: See Personal Protection to make sure wearing proper PPE when performing the below procedure.
- 2023-08-14: Added a note about vacuum refill requirement when the coolant loss is greater than 1L.
Remove
- Open the RH front door and fully lower the RH front window.
- Raise and support the vehicle. See Raise Vehicle - 2 Post Lift.
- Remove the rear underhood apron. See Underhood Apron - Rear (Remove and Replace).
- Remove the underhood storage unit. See Underhood Storage Unit (Remove and Replace).
-
Remove the bolt that attaches the
fresh air intake duct to the strut tower brace.
-
Release the fresh intake duct from the studs (x2) on the bulkhead, and then remove
the duct from the vehicle.
- Remove the 12V/LV battery from vehicle. See 12V/LV Battery (Remove and Replace).
-
Release the connector lock, and then
disconnect the electrical sensor for the chiller to battery hose
-
Release the clip, and then disconnect
the chiller to battery hose from the supermanifold.
-
Place an absorbent towel under the car
computer coolant connections to collect any spilled coolant.
- Release the spring clips (x2) that connect the car computer coolant hoses to the car computer coolant ports, and then disconnect the hoses.
- Plug the car computer coolant ports.
- Fully raise the vehicle.
- Remove the front aero shield panel. See Panel - Aero Shield - Front (Non-Structural Pack) (Remove and Replace).
- Position a coolant drain container underneath the LH front side of the HV battery.
- Remove the clips (x4) that attach the coolant hoses to the AC compressor bracket.
- Release the clips that attach the chiller to HV battery hose to the vehicle.
- Release the clip that connects the chiller to HV battery hose to the HV battery supply manifold, disconnect the hose, and then plug the male and female fittings.
- Remove the chiller to HV battery hose from the vehicle.
Install
- Install the chiller to HV battery hose into the vehicle.
-
Remove the hose plugs, connect the hose, and then fasten the clip that connects the
chiller to HV battery hose to the HV battery supply manifold.
NotePerform a push-pull test to verify that the hose is fully seated.
Coolant loss greater than 1L requires vacuum fill.
- Install the clip that attaches the chiller to HV battery hose to the vehicle.
- Install the clips (x4) that attach the coolant hoses to the AC compressor bracket.
- Remove the coolant drain container from underneath the vehicle.
- Install the front aero shield panel. See Panel - Aero Shield - Front (Non-Structural Pack) (Remove and Replace).
- Fully lower the vehicle.
- Remove the plugs from the car computer coolant ports.
-
Connect the car computer coolant hoses
to the car computer coolant ports, and then install the spring clips.
NotePerform a push-pull test to verify that the hose is fully seated.
- Remove the absorbent towel from under the car computer coolant connections.
-
Connect the chiller to battery hose to
the supermanifold, and then install the clip.
NotePerform a push-pull test to verify that the hose is fully seated.
-
Connect the electrical sensor
connector for the chiller to battery hose, and then engage the connector lock.
NoteThe harness with the purple tape connects to the coolant temperature sensor closest to the coolant bottle.
- Remove the coolant bottle cap, and then fill the coolant to the "Max" level.
- Connect 12V power. See 12V/LV Power (Disconnect and Connect).
- Connect to the vehicle with a laptop with Toolbox 3.0.
- In Toolbox, click the Actions/Autodiag tab, and then search for "Purge".
