Reuse

Remove

  1. Remove the steering wheel. See Steering Wheel (Remove and Install).
  2. Disconnect the steering wheel heating element connector.
  3. Remove the steering wheel ground connection screw.

  4. Remove the bolts (x5) that attach the steering wheel bright surround to the steering wheel rim.

  5. Release the clips that attach the steering wheel bright surround to the steering wheel rim.

    Note
    First pry up the lower portion away from the steering wheel, and then work around to release the other clips.

Install

  1. If the steering wheel rim comes with an airbag retaining spring, install the spring and make sure it is routed correctly.
  2. Install the clips that attach the steering wheel bright surround to the steering wheel rim.
  3. Install the bolts (x5) that attach the steering wheel bright surround to the steering wheel rim.
    2.5 Nm (1.8 lbs-ft)

  4. Connect the steering wheel heating element connector.
  5. Install the steering wheel ground connection screw.
