Isolator - Motor Mount - Front - RH (Remove and Replace)

  1. Open all four doors
  2. Lower all four windows
  3. Raise and support the vehicle.
  4. Open the hood.
  5. Power off the vehicle using the touchscreen.
  6. Remove the rear apron.
  7. Release washer fluid reservoir neck from frunk

    1x bolt, 10mm, 5 Nm, Some vehicles may have a push clip in this location
  8. Release washer tank neck from washer tank and set aside

    1x O-ring, No need to remove hose from neck
  9. Remove HEPA filter assembly

    2x bolts, 10mm, 5 Nm, Pivot rearward edge up and past brake reservoir, Then lift up to clear frunk assembly
  10. Disconnect the LV battery connector and First Responder Loop.
  11. Apply masking tape on RH front brake line and RH front rail panel
  12. Verify operation of multimeter

    Set multimeter to DC voltage, Confirm multimeter is properly measuring voltage by testing LV battery, Touch lightly and do not damage terminals
  13. Fully raise the vehicle, and then lower the lift onto the locks.
  14. Remove both LH and RH push clips securing mid aero shield to wheel house liner

    11x bolts, 10mm, 5 Nm, Fasteners may vary, MYSP will have one less bolt
  16. Remove all items from pockets and ensure not wearing metal items
  17. Inspect HV insulating gloves

  18. Put on the HV insulating gloves and leather over gloves.
  19. Install amp clamp to RDU HV harness

    Verify meter is zeroed out before performing measurement, Measure single cable. Verify ammeter is installed in correct direction If current > 0.5A do not proceed with disconnecting HV connector. In this case, start vehicle electrical isolation again to make sure that all was properly shut down. Escalate for assistance as required If current < 0.5A, OK to disconnect and check voltage at HV plug on battery side
  20. Release RDU HV harness from HV battery

    1x connector, Release locking tab and rotate release lever up to disengage connector, Do not force release lever up, Ensure alignment tabs on RDU header are not damaged
  21. Verify no high voltage at RDU HV header

    Make sure to wear PPE (HV gloves, safety glasses) when working on high voltage component, Measure B+ to Ground, B- to Ground, B+ to B-, If voltage is greater than 10V, Pack contactors are not open or welded, Stop work and reach out to Service Engineering
  22. Remove the outer fasteners from the front aero shield.
  23. Remove the remaining nuts (x2), and then remove the front aero shield from the vehicle.
  24. Position FDU support posts to FDU

  25. Remove bolt securing RH motor mount to RH motor mount isolator

    1x bolt, E18, 105 Nm
  26. Remove lower bolts of RH motor mount Isolator

    2x patch bolts, E14, 62 Nm, Discard after removal
  27. Set up ladder

    Note
    Set up ladder to the front of the car to perform required steps in the frunk area when the car on a 2 post lift and FDU is on transmission jack support
  28. Release AC HV compressor harness from RH shock tower

    1x retaining clip, Pull upward on clip to assist with removal, Do not pull on HV cable
  29. Remove upper bolt of RH motor mount Isolator

    1x patch bolt, E14, 62 Nm, Discard after removal, With the removal of the final bolt the mount will no longer be secured to the body and will fall if not careful
  30. Remove RH motor mount Isolator

    Lift the mount up to remove it. Caution to not damage any brake line or the front rail panel. Recommended assistance below the vehicle to move the transmission jack as needed
  31. Install O-Rings on motor mount isolator bolts

    3x patch bolts, E14, 62 Nm, 3x O-Rings, 9/16" x 3/8" x 3/32", install 5 threads from end of the new bolts
  32. Position RH motor mount Isolator

    Carefully push mount into position, avoid touching brake line and LH front rail panel, recommended assistance from underneath to move transmission jack if needed
  33. Loosely install upper bolt of RH motor mount Isolator

    1x patch bolt, E14, 62 Nm, Install new bolt, The O-Ring on the new bolt will properly align the new mount
  34. Loosely install lower bolts of RH motor mount Isolator

    2x patch bolt, E14, 62 Nm, Install new bolts, The O-Ring on the new bolt will properly align the new mount
  35. Torque bolts securing RH motor mount Isolator

  36. Remove ladder
  37. Install bolt securing RH motor mount to RH motor mount Isolator

    1x bolt, E18, 105 Nm, May need adjust subframe jig to align mount with bolt hole
  38. Remove FDU support and bottom hoist support under FDU
  39. Position the front aero shield on the vehicle, and then install the nuts that attach the aero shield to the vehicle.
  40. Apply Loctite 222 on the front aero shield bolts, and then install the bolts on the aero shield.
  41. Secure RDU HV harness onto HV battery

    1x connector, Verify lever is in upright and open position, Carefully seat connector and allow lever to engage, Fully secure lever and verify red tab is locked, Do not damage any pins
  42. Apply Loctite 222 onto mid aero shield bolts and install mid aero shield

    11x bolts, 10mm, 5 Nm, Fasteners may vary, Model Y Structural Pack has one less bolt and one extra clip
  43. Install both LH and RH push clips securing mid aero shield to wheel house liner

  44. Lower vehicle fully

    Raise lift off locks, then hold lock release lever to keep locks free while vehicle is lowered
  45. Remove masking tape from RH front brake line and RH front rail panel
  46. Secure AC HV compressor harness to RH shock tower

    1x retaining clip, Feed harness down against firewall of vehicle to continue installation
  47. Connect the First Responder Loop and LV battery connector.
  48. Install HEPA filter assembly

    2x bolts, 10mm, 5 Nm, Pivot forward edge down past frunk assembly, Then carefully move rear edge past brake reservoir and into position, Gently press on RH side of filter to seat seal onto duct, Rework requires new bolts
  49. Secure washer tank neck onto washer tank

    1x O-ring, Ensure washer hose is properly routed
  50. Secure washer fluid reservoir neck to frunk

  51. Install the rear apron.
  52. Close the hood.
  53. Remove vehicle from lift

    Lower rack arms fully and remove from under vehicle
  54. Raise all four windows
  55. Close all four doors

    If LV is powered up, Unlatch rear doors before closing
