Latch - Hood (Remove and Replace)

Remove
Note
If the hood latch does not open electronically, use the manual front trunk
tool to open the hood.
- 1130534-00-ATOOL, FRUNK RELEASE, MANUAL, MODEL 3
- Remove the underhood storage unit. See Underhood Storage Unit (Remove and Replace).

Release the connector lock, and then disconnect the hood latch electrical
connector.
CAUTIONDo not push down on the red locking tab. Pull the red tab to release the connector lock, and then pull again to release the connector.
- Mark the location of the hood latch with masking tape.

Remove the bolts that attach the hood latch to the front end carrier.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 10 mm socket
- 2 in extension
- Ratchet/torque wrench

Release the hood latch actuator cable from the hood latch.
NoteManually open the latch to create slack in the cable for removal.
- Release the hood latch actuator cable clip from the hood latch.
Install
Installation procedure is the reverse of removal.
