Vent Assembly - HV Battery - LH (Remove and Replace)

Remove

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. See Raise Vehicle - 2 Post Lift.
  2. Connect a laptop with Toolbox to the vehicle.
  3. In Toolbox, click the Actions/Autodiag tab, and then type "Plus" in the search field.
  4. Select Enter Service ModePROC_ICE_X_ENTER-SERVICE-MODECommon/tasks/PROC_ICE_X_ENTER-SERVICE-MODEInfotainment, and then click Run.
  5. Click the "X" at the top right of the window once the routine is complete.
  6. Inspect the Notifications for either a BMS_a123 or a BMS_W123 alert.
  7. If:
    • Either alert is present - Contact Service Engineering. Do not perform this procedure.
    • Neither alert is present - Continue to the next step.
  8. Use the touchscreen to exit Service Mode +.
  9. Disconnect 12V power. See 12V/LV Power (Disconnect and Connect).
  10. Perform the vehicle electrical isolation procedure. See Vehicle Electrical Isolation Procedure.
  11. Remove the mid aero shield panel. See Panel - Aero Shield - Mid (Remove and Replace).
  12. Release the fir tree clips that attach the coolant hoses to the LH shear plate.
  13. Put on personal protective equipment.

    HV insulating gloves and leather glove protectors must be worn when exposed to the interior of the HV battery.
  14. Remove the nuts (x5) that attach the LH vent assembly to the HV battery, and then remove the vent assembly from the battery.
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 10mm socket
    • 4 in extension

Install

  1. Put on personal protective equipment.

    HV insulating gloves and leather glove protectors must be worn when exposed to the interior of the HV battery.
  2. Install the LH vent assembly to the HV battery, and then install the nuts (x5) that attach the vent assembly to the battery.
    10 Nm (7.4 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 10mm socket
    • 4 in extension
  3. Perform an HV battery air leak test. See HV Battery Air Leak Test.
  4. If the replacement vent assembly is without a breather valve, install one now. See GUID-C087CCA2-DE10-4646-B12A-61CF1D0E234E.html#GUID-C087CCA2-DE10-4646-B12A-61CF1D0E234E.
  5. Fasten the fir tree clips that attach the coolant hoses to the LH shear plate.
  6. Install the mid aero shield panel. See Panel - Aero Shield - Mid (Remove and Replace).
  7. Connect 12V power. See 12V/LV Power (Disconnect and Connect).
