Brake Lines - 2 Tube Bundle - Rear (Remove and Replace)

Remove

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. See Raise Vehicle - 2 Post Lift.
  2. Open the LH front door and fully lower the LH front window.
  3. Remove the rear underhood apron. See Underhood Apron - Rear (Remove and Replace).
  4. Remove the two rear wheels. See Wheel Assembly (Remove and Install).
  5. Remove the LH rear wheel liner. See Wheel Arch Liner - Rear - LH (Non-Structural Pack) (Remove and Replace).
  6. Place an oil drain pan beneath the brake line junction box.
  7. Remove the brake line tube nut from the junction block, and allow the fluid to drain.
  8. Remove the brake line tube nut from the junction block, and allow the fluid to drain.
  9. Release the black clip that attaches the brake lines to the LH rear junction block.
  10. Release the brake lines from the LH rear junction box.
  11. Remove the nut that attaches the LH rear junction block to the vehicle, and then remove the junction block from the vehicle.
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 10mm socket
    • 4 in extension

Install

  1. Position the LH rear junction block into the vehicle, and then install the nut that attaches the junction box to the vehicle.
    5.5 Nm (4.1 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 10mm socket
    • 4 in extension
  2. Install the brake lines into the LH rear junction box.
  3. Install the black clip that attaches the brake lines to the LH rear junction block.
  4. Insert the brake line into the junction block, and then use a crowfoot extension to install the brake line tube nut into the junction block.
    16 Nm (11.8 lbs-ft)
  5. Insert the brake line into the junction block, and then use a crowfoot extension to install the brake line tube nut into the junction block.
    16 Nm (11.8 lbs-ft)
  6. Remove the oil drain pan from beneath the brake line junction box.
  7. Bleed the two rear brakes. See Brake Fluid Bleed/Flush.
  8. Install the LH rear wheel liner. See Wheel Arch Liner - Rear - LH (Non-Structural Pack) (Remove and Replace).
  9. Install the two rear wheels. See Wheel Assembly (Remove and Install).
  10. Install the rear underhood apron. See Underhood Apron - Rear (Remove and Replace).
  11. Open the LH front door and fully lower the LH front window.
