Stabilizer Bar - Front (Remove and Replace)

Remove

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. See Raise Vehicle - 2 Post Lift.
  2. Remove the LH and RH front fender garnishes. See Garnish - Fender - Front - LH (Remove and Replace).
  3. Remove the front aero shield panel. See Panel - Aero Shield - Front (Non-Structural Pack) (Remove and Replace).
  4. Remove the front fascia valance. See Valance - Front Fascia (Remove and Replace).
  5. Remove and discard the nuts that attach the front stabilizer bar to the LH and RH front stabilizer bar links, and then move the front stabilizer bar links aside.
    98 Nm (72.3 lbs-ft)

    Note
    Use a T40 bit to hold the stabilizer bar link ball joint in position.
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Torx T40 bit
    • 18 mm combination wrench

  6. Remove and discard the nuts that attach the front stabilizer bar to the front subframe, and then remove the stabilizer bar from the vehicle.
    35 Nm (25.8 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 15 mm deep socket
    • 3 in extension

Install

  1. Install the front stabilizer bar to the front subframe, install new nuts to attach the stabilizer bar to the subframe, and then mark the nuts with a paint pen after they are torqued.
    35 Nm (25.8 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 15 mm deep socket
    • 3 in extension
  2. Install the LH and RH front stabilizer bar links to the front stabilizer bar, install new nuts to attach the links to the stabilizer bar, and then mark the nuts with a paint pen after they are torqued.
    98 Nm (72.3 lbs-ft)

  3. Install the front fascia valance. See Valance - Front Fascia (Remove and Replace).
  4. Install the LH and RH front fender garnishes. See Garnish - Fender - Front - LH (Remove and Replace).
  5. Refer to the Alignment Requirement tables to determine whether an EPAS alignment check (EC) or four wheel alignment check (AC) is necessary. If performed, add the alignment check/adjust as a separate activity. See Alignment Requirement - Suspension.
