Hose - Chiller to HV Battery (LHD) (Dual Motor) (Remove and Replace)

Remove
- Open the LH front door and fully lower the LH front window.
- Raise and support the vehicle. See Raise Vehicle - 2 Post Lift.
- Remove the rear underhood apron. See Underhood Apron - Rear (Remove and Replace).
- Remove the underhood storage unit. See Underhood Storage Unit (Remove and Replace).
- Remove the fresh intake duct. See Duct - Fresh Intake (Remove and Replace).
- Disconnect 12V power. See 12V/LV Power (Disconnect and Connect).
- Remove the 12V battery. See 12V/LV Battery (Remove and Replace).
- Release the connector lock, and then disconnect the electrical sensor for the chiller to battery hose.
- Remove the front aero shield panel. See Panel - Aero Shield - Front (Non-Structural Pack) (Remove and Replace).
- Position a coolant drain container underneath the front of the vehicle.
- Release the clip, disconnect the chiller to battery hose from the supermanifold, and then immediately plug the supermanifold.
- Place an absorbent towel under the car computer coolant connections, as shown.
- Release the clip that connects the LH car computer coolant hose to the car computer coolant port, and then disconnect the hose.
- Release the clip that connects the RH car computer coolant hose to the car computer coolant port, and then disconnect the hose.
- Plug the car computer coolant ports.
- Remove the clips (x4) that attach the coolant hoses to the AC compressor bracket.
- Remove the coolant drain container from underneath the vehicle.
- Fully raise the vehicle.
- Place a coolant drain container below the LH front of the vehicle.

Remove the clips and bolt that attach the LH front wheel liner to the HV
battery, and then use a bungee strap to pull the LH front wheel liner
back.
Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 10mm socket
- 4 in extension
- Release the clip that attaches the HV battery front manifold hose from the body.
- Release the clip that connects the chiller to HV battery hose to the HV battery supply manifold, disconnect the hose, and then plug the male and female fittings.
- Remove the coolant drain container from the beneath the vehicle.
- Lower the vehicle to a comfortable working height.

Remove the front chiller to HV battery hose from the vehicle.
NoteRemove the hose through the RH side of the vehicle. Gently maneuver the hose as need to clear any surrounding objects.
Install
- Install the chiller to HV battery hose into the vehicle.

Remove the hose plugs,
connect the hose, and then fasten the clip that connects the chiller to HV
battery hose to the HV battery supply manifold.
NotePerform a push-pull test to verify that the hose is fully seated.
- Install the clip that attaches the HV battery front manifold hose from the body.
- Release the RH front wheel liner from the bungee strap, and then remove the strap from the vehicle.

Install the clips and bolt that attach the LH front wheel liner to the HV
battery.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 10mm socket
- 4 in extension
- Install the front aero shield panel. See Panel - Aero Shield - Front (Non-Structural Pack) (Remove and Replace).

Connect the RH car computer
coolant hose to the car computer coolant port, and then install the
clip.
NotePerform a push-pull test to verify that the hose is fully seated.

Connect the LH car computer
coolant hose to the car computer coolant port, and then install the
clip.
NotePerform a push-pull test to verify that the hose is fully seated.
- Remove the absorbent towel from under the car computer coolant connections.

Connect the chiller to
battery hose to the supermanifold, and then install the clip.
NotePerform a push-pull test to verify that the hose is fully seated.

Connect the electrical
sensor connector for the chiller to battery hose, and then engage the
connector lock.
NoteThe harness with the purple tape connects to the coolant temperature sensor closest to the coolant bottle.
- Install the clips (x4) that attach the coolant hoses to the AC compressor bracket.
- Install the 12V battery. See 12V/LV Battery (Remove and Replace).
- Remove the coolant bottle cap, and then fill the coolant to the "Max" level.
- Connect 12V power. See 12V/LV Power (Disconnect and Connect).
- Connect to the vehicle with a laptop with Toolbox 3.0.
- In Toolbox, click the Actions/Autodiag tab, and then search for "Purge".
- Click TEST_VCFRONT_X_THERMAL-COOLANT-AIR-PURGESearch for routine in ToolboxThermal / Coolant System - Coolant Purge Starthv / Front Drive Inverter Replacement - Coolant Air Purgehv / Rear Drive Inverter Replacement - Coolant Air Purgehv / Rear Left Drive Inverter Replacement - Coolant Air Purgehv / Rear Right Drive Inverter Replacement - Coolant Air Purgehv / Front Drive Unit Replacement - Coolant Air Purgehv / Rear Drive Unit Replacement - Coolant Air PurgeThermal / Actions - Coolant Purge Stop or Coolant Purge Start, and then click Run and allow the routine to complete.
- Disconnect the laptop from the vehicle.

Inspect the coolant level
and top off as necessary, and then install the coolant bottle cap.
NoteEnsure that the coolant level is at the "Max" line.
- Install the fresh intake duct. See Duct - Fresh Intake (Remove and Replace).
- Install the underhood storage unit. See Underhood Storage Unit (Remove and Replace).
- Raise the LH front window and close the LH front door.
