Remove
- Raise and support the vehicle on a 2 post lift. See Raise Vehicle - 2 Post Lift.
- Remove the rear underhood apron. See Underhood Apron - Rear (Remove and Replace).
- Remove the underhood storage unit. See Underhood Storage Unit (Remove and Replace).
- Disconnect 12V power. See 12V/LV Power (Disconnect and Connect).
- Remove the fresh intake duct. See Duct - Fresh Intake (Remove and Replace).
- Raise and support the vehicle. See Raise Vehicle - 2 Post Lift.
- Remove the front aero shield panel. See Panel - Aero Shield - Front (Non-Structural Pack) (Remove and Replace).
-
Remove the push clips (x4) that attach
the lower rear edge of RH front wheel liner to the vehicle to gain access to the coolant
hose.
-
Use a bungee strap attached to the
front subframe to pull back the RH front wheel liner.
-
Position a coolant drain container
underneath the RH front corner of the HV battery.
-
Release the clips (x2), and then
disconnect the powertrain return tube from the front drive unit inverter inlet hose.
Plug both hose ends with plugs (x2).
NoteLower hose is located on the RH front of the HV battery.
-
Release the fir tree clip that
attaches the inverter inlet hose to the front subframe.
-
Position the coolant drain container
below the LH rear of front drive unit.
-
Disconnect the clip that attaches the
inverter inlet hose to the fluid coupling. Plug the hose end and the fluid
coupling.
-
Release the fir tree clip that
attaches the front drive unit inverter inlet hose to the vehicle, and then remove the
hose from the vehicle.
NoteRemove the plugs from each end of the hose and allow hose to fully drain.
Install
-
Install the front drive unit inverter
inlet hose on the vehicle, and then attach the hose to be vehicle with a fir tree
clip.
-
Remove the plug from the fluid
coupling, and then connect inverter inlet hose. Secure the hose with the spring
clip.
NotePerform a push-pull test to verify the hose is fully engaged.

CAUTIONMake sure the vehicle is not in drive state. Putting vehicle into drive state will stop this routine.NoteThe test lasts approximately 10 minutes. Routine is still running despite the stop message. The coolant pumps will be audible. Coolant pump speeds can be monitored in Garage under the PT Thermal tab. Idle speed = ~1500 RPM, Test will vary speeds from 3500-6500 RPM and actuate valve between SERIES and PARALLEL.NoteIf the coolant speeds hover at 7000 RPM, that means the coolant pumps are air locked. Therefore, perform this step again.NoteContinue to add coolant and purge until the coolant level reaches between the NOM and MAX Lines on the coolant bottle.NoteSelect ‘X’ at top right of window to close once completed. - Disconnect the laptop from the vehicle.
- Inspect the coolant level and top off, if needed.
- Install the fresh intake duct. See Duct - Fresh Intake (Remove and Replace).
- Install the underhood storage unit. See Underhood Storage Unit (Remove and Replace).
- Install the rear underhood apron. See Underhood Apron - Rear (Remove and Replace).
