Clean Radiator

Procedure

  1. Place the vehicle on the 2-post lift.
  2. Open the LH front door and lower the LH front window.
  3. Use the touchscreen to place the vehicle in Service Mode. See Service Mode.
  4. Remove the active grille shutter. See Active Grille Shutter (Remove and Replace).
  5. Remove the locking tabs (x8) that attach the plastic grille to the radiator.
  6. Use a shop-vac to clean the dirt on the radiator.

    If necessary, remove the large debris.
  7. Use a blow gun to clean the dirt on the radiator again.

    Do not get too close to the radiator blades.
  8. Install the locking tabs (x8) that attach the plastic grille to the radiator.
  9. Install the active grille shutter. See Active Grille Shutter (Remove and Replace).

    Terminate after connecting the LV power.
  10. Unlock the gateway. See Gateway (Unlock).
  11. On the touchscreen, tap the Service Mode "wrench" (at the bottom of the touchscreen UI), and then tap Thermal > Actions, then tap the START button next to "Test Thermal Performance", click "Run", and then allow the routine to complete.
  12. On the touchscreen, tap the Service Mode "wrench" (at the bottom of the touchscreen UI), and then tap Thermal > Actions, then tap the START button next to "Test HVAC Performance", click "Run", and then allow the routine to complete.
  13. Disable Service Mode. See Service Mode.
  14. Install the underhood storage unit. See Underhood Storage Unit (Remove and Replace).
  15. Install the HEPA filter assembly. See Assembly - Filter - HEPA (Remove and Install).
  16. Raise the LH front window and close the LH front door.
  17. Remove the vehicle from the lift.
