Remove

  1. Open all the doors and lower all the windows.
  2. Open the liftgate.
  3. Move the front seats forward.
  4. Remove the 2nd row lower seat cushion. See Seat Cushion - Lower - 2nd Row (Remove and Replace).
  5. Remove the LH and RH lower C-pillar trims. See Trim - C-Pillar - Lower - LH (Remove and Replace).
  6. Push to open the LH coat hook.
  7. Release the locking tab to open the LH coat hook screw cover.
  8. Remove the LH coat hook screw.
    1 Nm (.7 lbs-ft)

    Note
    Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Torx T20 bit
  9. Repeat step 5 through step 8 for the RH coat hook.
  10. Remove the rear trunk load floor. See Trunk Load Floor - Rear (Remove and Replace).
  11. Remove the front trunk load floor. See Trunk Load Floor - Front (Remove and Replace).
  12. Remove the trunk sill trim. See Trim - Sill - Trunk (Remove and Replace).
  13. Remove the LH trunk load floor bracket. See Bracket - Trunk Load Floor - LH (Remove and Replace).
  14. Remove the LH trunk pocket bracket. See Bracket - Trunk Pocket - LH (Remove and Replace).
  15. Remove the LH trunk side trim. See Trim - Side - Trunk - LH (Remove and Replace).
  16. Remove the LH upper C-pillar trim. See Trim - C-Pillar - Upper - LH (Remove and Replace).
  17. Repeat step 13 through step 16 for the RH side of the vehicle.
  18. Release the clips that attach the rear edge of the rear headliner to the vehicle.
  19. Remove the liftgate assembly. See Liftgate Assembly (Remove and Install).
  20. Remove the bolt that attaches the liftgate hinge to the vehicle.
    12 Nm (8.8 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 10 mm socket
  21. Remove the nuts (x2) that attach the LH liftgate hinge to the vehicle.
    30 Nm (22.1 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 13 mm socket
  22. Remove the LH liftgate hinge from the vehicle.

    CAUTION
    Be careful not to damage the glass roof.

Install

  1. Position the LH liftgate hinge into the vehicle.

  2. Install and hand tighten the bolt that attaches the liftgate hinge to the vehicle.
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 10 mm socket
  3. Install and hand tighten the nuts (x2) that attach the LH liftgate hinge to the vehicle.
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 13 mm socket
  4. Install the liftgate assembly. See Liftgate Assembly (Remove and Install).
  5. Tighten the nuts (x2) that attach the LH liftgate hinge to the vehicle.
    30 Nm (22.1 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 13 mm socket
  6. Tighten the bolt that attaches the liftgate hinge to the vehicle.
    12 Nm (8.8 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 10 mm socket
  7. Install the clips that attach the rear edge of the rear headliner to the vehicle.
  8. Install the LH upper C-pillar trim. See Trim - C-Pillar - Upper - LH (Remove and Replace).
  9. Install the LH trunk side trim. See Trim - Side - Trunk - LH (Remove and Replace).
  10. Install the LH trunk pocket bracket. See Bracket - Trunk Pocket - LH (Remove and Replace).
  11. Install the LH trunk load floor bracket. See Bracket - Trunk Load Floor - LH (Remove and Replace).
  12. Repeat step 8 through step 11 for the RH side of the vehicle.
  13. Install the trunk sill trim. See Trim - Sill - Trunk (Remove and Replace).
  14. Install the front trunk load floor. See Trunk Load Floor - Front (Remove and Replace).
  15. Install the rear trunk load floor. See Trunk Load Floor - Rear (Remove and Replace).
  16. Install the LH and RH lower C-pillar trims. See Trim - C-Pillar - Lower - LH (Remove and Replace).
  17. Install the LH coat hook screw.
    1 Nm (.7 lbs-ft)

    Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:

  18. Close the LH coat hook screw cover.
  19. Push to close the LH coat hook.
  20. Repeat step 17 through step 19 for the RH coat hook.
  21. Install the 2nd row lower seat cushion. See Seat Cushion - Lower - 2nd Row (Remove and Replace).
  22. Close the liftgate.
  23. Move front seats to original position.
  24. Raise all windows and close all the doors.
