Remove
- Open all the doors and lower all the windows.
- Open the liftgate.
- Move the front seats forward.
- Fold the 2nd row 60 seatback down.

Push to open the LH coat hook.

Release the locking tab to open the LH
coat hook screw cover.

Remove the LH coat hook screw.
TIpUse of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- Torx T20 bit
- Remove the LH trunk pocket bracket. See Bracket - Trunk Pocket - LH (Remove and Replace).
- Remove the LH trunk side trim. See Trim - Side - Trunk - LH (Remove and Replace).
- Remove the LH upper C-pillar trim. See Trim - C-Pillar - Upper - LH (Remove and Replace).

Release the clips that attach the rear
edge of the rear headliner to the vehicle.

Apply tape to the LH liftgate hinge location.
NoteThis will mark where the hinge should align when installing. Adhesive tape is also attached to the rear body of the hinge to prevent damage to the paint when removing the hinge.

Use Telescoping Hood Prop to support the liftgate.

Place an inflatable air bag between the liftgate and the roof glass to prevent the
liftgate from directly pressing against the roof glass and causing damage.
CAUTIONPerform with assistance, otherwise there is a risk of damage.

Place shop towel on the LH side trunk jamb.

Release the LH upper power strut clip from the ball stud at the liftgate.
CAUTIONPerform with assistance, otherwise there is a risk of damage.NoteOnce released, lay the power strut down on the door jamb.

With assistance, remove the LH liftgate hinge bolts (x2).
TIpUse of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- Combination Wrench 12pt 13mm

Remove the bolt that attaches the
liftgate hinge to the vehicle.
TIpUse of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 10 mm deep socket

Remove the nuts (x2) that attach the
LH liftgate hinge to the vehicle.
TIpUse of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 13 mm socket

Remove the LH liftgate hinge from the
vehicle.
CAUTIONBe careful not to damage the glass roof.
Install
-
Use scraper razer blade and IPA wipes to remove old spacers from the body.
CAUTIONBe careful not to damage the vehicle's painted surfaces.

Position the LH liftgate hinge into
the vehicle.
CAUTIONBe careful not to damage the glass roof.

Install and hand tighten the bolt that
attaches the liftgate hinge to the vehicle.
TIpUse of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 10 mm deep socket

Install and hand tighten the nuts (x2)
that attach the LH liftgate hinge to the vehicle.
-
With assistance, install and hand-tighten the LH liftgate hinge bolts (x2).
-
With assistance, install the LH upper power strut clip to the ball stud at the
liftgate.
- Remove the inflatable air bag.
- Remove the shop towel on the LH side trunk jamb.
- Remove the liftgate support from the vehicle.
-
With assistance, close the liftgate to check gap/flush, and perform adjustment as
necessary to the hinge bolts and the trunk striker.
NoteRefer to CVIS for latest specifications.

Torque the LH liftgate hinge bolts (x2).
32 Nm (23.6 lbs-ft)TIpUse of the following tool(s) is recommended:- Combination Wrench 12pt 13mm

Torque the nuts (x2) that attach the LH liftgate hinge to the vehicle.
30 Nm (22.1 lbs-ft)TIpUse of the following tool(s) is recommended:- 13 mm socket

Torque the bolt that attaches the liftgate hinge to the vehicle.
12 Nm (8.8 lbs-ft)TIpUse of the following tool(s) is recommended:- 10 mm deep socket

Apply touch up paint to the fasteners that secure the LH liftgate hinge.
-
Install the clips (x2) that attach the
rear edge of the rear headliner to the vehicle.
- Install the LH upper C-pillar trim. See Trim - C-Pillar - Upper - LH (Remove and Replace).
- Install the LH trunk side trim. See Trim - Side - Trunk - LH (Remove and Replace).
- Install the LH trunk pocket bracket. See Bracket - Trunk Pocket - LH (Remove and Replace).

Install the LH coat hook screw.
1 Nm (.7 lbs-ft)TIpUse of the following tool(s) is recommended:- Torx T20 bit

Close the LH coat hook screw
cover.
-
Push to close the LH coat hook.
- Fold the 60 seat back into original position.
- Remove the masking tapes used for marking the position of the LH liftgate hinge.
- Close the liftgate.
- Move both front seats to original position.
- Raise all windows and close all the doors.
