Riser - Instrument Panel (Remove and Replace)

Remove

  1. Open the LH front door and fully lower the LH front window.
  2. Move the driver seat fully rearward.
  3. Remove the LH front floormat.
  4. Remove the LH center console side panel carpet. See Side Panel - Center Console - LH (Remove and Replace).
  5. Remove the clip that attaches the carpet to the instrument panel riser.
  6. Remove the bolt that attaches the instrument panel riser to the cross car beam.
    25 Nm (18.4 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 13 mm socket
    • Flex head ratchet / flex head torque wrench
    • 3 in extension
  7. Remove the nut that attaches the instrument panel riser to the body, and then remove the riser from the vehicle.
    25 Nm (18.4 lbs-ft)

    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 13 mm socket
    • Flex head ratchet / flex head torque wrench
    • 6 in extension

Install

  1. Position the instrument panel riser into the vehicle, and then install the nut.
    25 Nm (18.4 lbs-ft)

    Note the direction of the instrument panel riser during installation.
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 13 mm socket
    • Flex head ratchet / flex head torque wrench
    • 6 in extension
  2. Install the bolt that attaches the instrument panel riser to the cross car beam.
    25 Nm (18.4 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 13 mm socket
    • Flex head ratchet / flex head torque wrench
    • 3 in extension
  3. Install the clip that attaches the carpet to the instrument panel riser.
  4. Install the LH center console side panel carpet. See Side Panel - Center Console - LH (Remove and Replace).
  5. Install the LH front floormat.
  6. Move the driver seat to its original position.
  7. Raise the LH front window and close the LH front door.
