NVH Insulator - Center Underbody (Remove and Replace)

Parts required for this procedure: 1613381-00-A (x3): BUTYL FOIL, 480X240x2MM

Remove

  1. Remove the rear carpet. See Carpet - Rear (Remove and Replace).
  2. Use a heat gun and scraper to remove the floor glue from the center underbody.

    Do not overheat, pay attention to any wire harnesses.
  3. Use a vacuum cleaner and IPAQ wipes to clean the center underbody from any residue of the floor glue.

Install

  1. Peel off the outer backing of the butyl patch, and then slightly heat up the back of each butyl patch prior to installation.
  2. Apply a butyl patch to both sides of the center underbody assembly, and then install an additional butyl patch in between the outer two butyl patches, making sure it slightly overlaps both side patches for optimal coverage and sealing.

  3. Install the rear carpet and all components that were removed to enable removal of the rear carpet. See Carpet - Rear (Remove and Replace).
