Warning
This procedure is a DRAFT,
although it has been validated. Warnings and Cautions might be missing. Follow safety
requirements and use extreme caution when working on or near high voltage systems and
components. Provide corrections and feedback to ServiceDevelopment@teslamotors.com.
Note
Refer to CD-20-20-001 for Model Y Event Data Recorder (EDR) guide.
Note
Use the following procedure(s) for Model Y EDR retrieval as required:
Establish a Direct-to-Module Connection (Non-Structural Pack)
- Open all of the doors.
- Lower all of the windows.
-
On the vehicle touchscreen, select the Tesla symbol, and then confirm and note the vehicle’s firmware version.
- Remove the Restraint Control Module (RCM). See Module - Restraint Control (Non-Structural Pack) (Remove and Replace).
-
Connect the EDR extraction harness connectors (x2) to the RCM.
NoteUse of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- EDR extraction harness, RCM, Bosch MS-M3-MY - 1492139-00-B
-
Connect the EDR extraction harness connector to the PCAN USB to CAN adapter connector.
