1. Open all four doors
   Note

   Latch rear doors to prevent accidental closing when vehicle is powered down
2. Lower all windows
3. Move LH front seat backward
4. Remove LH front floormat
5. Remove LH mid A-pillar assembly
   Note

   1x clip, 1x tab, Release the upper clip then pull mid A-pillar upward to remove

   

6. Remove clip securing LH lower A-pillar trim
   Note

   1x push clip

   

7. Remove LH lower A-pillar trim
   Note

   6x clips, 2 guide tabs, Pull rear of lower A-pillar upward to release clip then pull rearward to release trim panel

   

8. Release LH front door seal from body

   

9. Remove clip securing LH front cabin carpet to body
   Note

   1x clip

   

10. Pull LH front cabin carpet away from A-pillar to access LH front seat connector

    

11. Remove LH front seat front fasteners
    Note

    2x patch bolts, T45P, 33.5 Nm, Discard after removal

    

12. Move LH front seat forward
13. Release seat belt retractor from LH front seat
    Note

    Insert special removal tool into the bottom of the retractor to release

    

14. Raise LH front seat cushion to maximum height
    Note

    Adjust seat back if needed to avoid contacting headliner

    

15. Remove LH front seat rear fasteners
    Note

    2x patch bolts, T45P, 33.5 Nm, Discard after removal

    

16. Adjust position of LH front seat for easy removal
    Note

    Move seat to middle of track at most upright position
17. Open hood
18. Remove rear apron
    Note

    14x clips

    

    

19. Power off vehicle from center display
    Note

    Via Controls > Safety & Security > Vehicle Power > Power Off
20. Disconnect 12V negative terminal and first responders loop
    Note

    1x nut, 10mm, 6 Nm, 1x connector, Ensure vehicle is in park, climate control system is off, and vehicle is not charging before disconnecting 12V, Negative terminal should be disconnected before FRL, Allow 2 minutes for all electrical circuits to fully discharge

    

    

21. Disconnect LH front seat harness from VC left
    Note

    1x electrical connector, Release the lock by squeezing the release tab, Then fully disengage the lock by moving it away from the VC left, Do not force the connector, If the connector does not easily release from the VC the lock is still engaged

    

    

22. Remove LH front seat harness from LH footwell support bracket
    Note

    2x retaining clips

    

    

23. Release LH front seat harness and guide from body
    Note

    3x clips, 1 datum, Datum goes through access hole on LH lower B-pillar

    

    

24. Pull LH front seat harness from under LH front cabin carpet

    

25. Remove LH front seat from vehicle
    Note

    Recommend assistance, Assistant should be ready to support seat back, Caution not to damage any trim
26. Place LH front seat on a protected surface
    Note

    Recommend assistance, Place seat so the underside of the seat can be accessed

    

27. Install the outboard headrest release tool
    Note

    Depress the material around the headrest post to expose the release clip, Ensure both tangs of the release tool engage the retaining spring, The release tool is rotated into position, Images show headrest removed for clarity

    

    

    

28. Install the inboard headrest release tool
    Note

    Depress the material around the headrest post to expose the release clip, Ensure both tangs of the release tool engage the retaining spring, The release tool is rotated into position, Images show headrest removed for clarity

    

    

    

29. Remove the headrest from seat
    Note

    2x locking clips, Remove by pulling straight up, out of the seat

    

30. Remove the inboard headrest release tool
    Note

    Rotate the release tool out of position, Do not pull straight up or out

    

31. Remove the outboard headrest release tool
    Note

    Rotate the release tool out of position, Do not pull straight up or out

    

32. Unhook the straps for the lower section of the seat back and move the seat back flap away from the underside of the seat
    Note

    2x clips

    

33. Remove seat back from LH front seat
    Note

    8x clips, Start at the top of the seat and pull the shell away from the frame, When the side clips are free, pull the bottom and carefully roll the bottom tabs out of the slots, If pulled straight out the clips on the seat back can break off, Release remaining clips from underneath seat assembly

    

    

    

34. Remove the lower flap covering the outboard corner of the seat back frame
    Note

    Pull the trim straight up, off of the retaining tabs to release

    

35. Remove the upper flap covering the outboard corner of the seat back frame
    Note

    Pull the lower section of trim away from the retaining tab to release, then pull the trim straight up off of the upper retaining tab

    

36. Remove the outer clips securing the seat upholstery to the seat back frame
    Note

    2x clips, To release, rotate the clips off of the frame from the inside out

    

37. Pull the seat upholstery away from the air bag to gain access to the air bag electrical connector

    

38. Disconnect LH front seat air bag
    Note

    1x connector, Pull both of the orange tabs down to release the connector

    

39. Disconnect the recliner motor
    Note

    1x connector

    

    

    

40. Disconnect the lumbar valve pack and ECU
    Note

    1x connector

    

    

41. Disconnect the lumbar pump
    Note

    1x connector

    

    

42. Remove the seat harness from seat back frame
    Note

    3x clips

    

    

43. Remove screw securing outer side cover to seat
    Note

    1x screw, T20, 4 Nm, Ensure the front of the seat is high enough to access the T20 screw

    

44. Pull outward at front to release outer side cover clip from LH front seat but do not remove
    Note

    1x clip, Do not fully remove for risk of damage to the trim/switch pack/harness

    

45. Lift cover rearward to release outer side cover rear tab from LH front seat
    Note

    Do not fully remove for risk of damage to the trim/switch pack/harness

    

46. Disconnect LH front seat switch connector
    Note

    1x connector

    

47. Remove the outer trim from the LH front seat
    Note

    The rear of the trim will be pulled outward and the trim will need to be lifted off, out of the seat, clearing the cushion and the pretensioner

    

    

48. Remove the crazy rabbit clip
    Note

    1x clip

    

49. Remove the crazy rabbit

    

    

50. Disconnect the driver pre-tensioner connector
    Note

    1x electrical connector, 2 stage locking connector, Release the first lock by pulling away from the connector, Then remove the connector from the pre-tensioner

    

51. Release seat belt pretensioner harness clips
    Note

    3x clips, Use 90 pick to release harness clips from seat track rail

    

    

    

52. Remove clips securing seat switch harness to seat cushion frame
    Note

    2x fir tree clips

    

53. Rotate the seat to gain access to the underside of the seat
    Note

    Protect seat cushion from damage

    

54. Remove the clip securing the LH front seat harness to the outboard seat track
    Note

    1x clip

    

55. Remove the harness retaining clip under the tilt motor
    Note

    1x retaining clip

    

56. Disconnect the tilt motor connector
    Note

    1x connector

    

57. Route the seat belt pretensioner leg of the seat harness away from the seat
    Note

    Route the harness leg from behind the tilt motor and away from the bottom of the seat

    

    

58. Disconnect the seat back heater connector
    Note

    1x connector, Green

    

59. Disconnect the heat pad connector
    Note

    1x connector

    

60. Remove clip securing the harness to the under side of the seat, next to the seat heater connectors
    Note

    1x retaining clip

    

61. Disconnect the seat occupied sensor and set the sensor harness pigtail aside
    Note

    1x connector

    

62. Remove the retaining clip that secures the seat occupied sensor connector to the seat bottom and discard
    Note

    The new harness comes with the retaining clip installed on the harness connector

    

63. Remove the retaining clip under the main seat harness junction
    Note

    1x retaining clip

    

64. Disconnect the lift motor connector
    Note

    1x connector

    

    

65. Remove the clip securing the harness to the seat cushion frame under the lift motor
    Note

    1x retaining clip

    

66. Disconnect the seat track motor connector
    Note

    1x connector

    

67. Remove the clip securing the track motor harness to the track motor housing
    Note

    1x edge clip

    

68. Disconnect the seat track position sensor connector
    Note

    1x connector

    

69. Remove inner side shield from seat
    Note

    3x clips, Release side clip from seat bottom frame, then pull up on rear of trim to remove

    

    

70. Disconnect the seat belt buckle and set seat belt buckle aside
    Note

    1x connector

    

71. Release the clip that attaches the seat belt buckle connector to the seat cushion frame
    Note

    1x fir tree clip

    

72. Remove the clips securing the seat belt buckle connector harness to the seat cushion frame
    Note

    2x fir tree clips

    

73. Route the seat belt buckle leg of the harness away from the seat to allow the seat harness to be removed
    Note

    Route the seat belt buckle leg around the lift motor and away from the seat, The harness will be completely free from the seat at this point

    

    

74. Position the new seat harness for installation
    Note

    Route the harness under the lift motor and tilt motor placing the harness legs in the correct locations, Harness clips will be installed later

    

75. Install the clips securing the seat belt buckle connector harness to the seat cushion frame
    Note

    2x fir tree clips

    

76. Install clip securing seat belt buckle harness connector to the seat cushion frame
    Note

    1x fir tree clip

    

77. Connect the seat belt buckle
    Note

    1x connector

    

78. Install LH inner side shield to driver seat
    Note

    3x clips, Slide the trim onto the seat from the opening for the buckle, then slide forward into position

    

    

79. Connect the seat track position sensor connector
    Note

    1x connector

    

80. Connect the seat track motor connector
    Note

    1x connector

    

81. Install the clip securing the track motor harness to the track motor housing
    Note

    1x edge clip

    

82. Install the clip securing the harness to the seat cushion frame under the lift motor
    Note

    1x retaining clip

    

83. Connect the lift motor connector
    Note

    1x connector

    

84. Install the retaining clip under the main seat harness junction
    Note

    1x retaining clip

    

85. Connect the seat occupied sensor and install the clip onto the seat bottom
    Note

    1x connector, 1x retaining clip, Ensure harness is not routed between cushion and frame to avoid friction

    

86. Install the clip securing the harness to the under side of the seat, next to the seat heater connectors
    Note

    1x retaining clip

    

87. Connect the heat pad connector
    Note

    1x connector

    

88. Connect the seat back heater connector
    Note

    1x connector

    

89. Install the harness retaining clip under the tilt motor
    Note

    1x retaining clip

    

90. Connect the tilt motor connector
    Note

    1x connector

    

91. Install the clip securing the LH front seat harness to the outboard seat track
    Note

    1x clip

    

92. Install clips securing seat switch harness to seat cushion frame
    Note

    2x fir tree clips

    

93. Install seat belt pretensioner harness clips
    Note

    3x clips, Position seat belt pretensioner harness clips to seat track rail and press down on each clip to secure

    

    

94. Connect the driver pre-tensioner connector
    Note

    1x electrical connector, 2 stage locking connector, Connect the pre-tensioner, Then slide the lock towards the connector, Perform a pull push pull test to ensure proper connection

    

95. Install the crazy rabbit

    

    

96. Install the crazy rabbit clip
    Note

    1x clip

    

97. Position outer side cover to the LH front seat and slide forward to secure rear tab
    Note

    Apply light pressure to the rear of the outer trim to fully seat onto the seat frame, A fully installed trim should not show any metal from the frame and should line up with the contour of the seat back

    

    

    

98. Connect the LH front seat switch connector
    Note

    1x connector

    

99. Slide outer side cover to secure rear tab to LH front seat
    Note

    Apply light pressure to the rear of the outer trim to fully seat onto the seat frame, A fully installed trim should not show any metal from the frame and should line up with the contour of the seat back

    

    

    

100. Install screw securing outer side cover to seat
     Note

     1x screw, T20, 4 Nm

     

101. Rotate the seat back to the upright position

     

102. Install the seat harness to seat back frame for installation
     Note

     3x clips

     

     

103. Connect the lumbar pump
     Note

     1x connector

     

104. Connect the lumbar valve pack and ECU
     Note

     1x connector

     

105. Connect the recliner motor
     Note

     1x connector

     

106. Connect front seat air bag
     Note

     1x connector

     

107. Install the clips holding the outboard seat back trim to the seat frame
     Note

     2x clips

     

108. Install the upper flap covering the outboard corner of the seat back frame
     Note

     Pull the flap over the metal tangs to secure

     

109. Install the lower flap covering the outboard corner of the seat back frame
     Note

     Pull the flap over the metal tangs to secure

     

110. Install the seat back shell base assembly to seat back frame
     Note

     8x clips, Install the lower clips first and rotate the shell up into place, Light pressure may need to be applied to the shell to ensure it's fully seated, The headrest posts will engage the seat back when installed

     

     

     

     

111. Hook the strap clips for the seat back shell onto the seat suspension
     Note

     2x clips, Ensure the straps are tight for proper fit and installation

     

112. Install the headrest into seat
     Note

     2x locking clips, Ensure the headrest is fully seated, An audible click will be heard when installing the headrest, Ensure the headrest is seated by tugging up on the headrest

     

113. Install LH front seat into vehicle
     Note

     Recommend assistance, Assistant should be ready to support seat back, Caution not to damage any trim
114. Secure LH front seat harness and guide to body
     Note

     3x clips, 1x datum, Datum goes through access hole on LH lower B-pillar

     

     

115. Install LH front seat harness onto LH footwell support bracket
     Note

     2x retaining clips

     

     

116. Connect LH front seat harness to VC left
     Note

     1x electrical connector, Ensure the connector and lock are fully engaged, Perform pull push pull test to ensure the connector and connector lock are seated

     

     

117. Fully seat LH front cabin carpet

     

118. Install clip securing LH front cabin carpet to body

     

119. Install LH lower A-pillar trim
     Note

     6x clips, 2 locating pins, Align front locating pin first

     

120. Install clip securing LH lower A-pillar trim
     Note

     1x push clip

     

121. Install LH mid A-pillar assembly
     Note

     1x clip, 1x tab, Align the bottom tab then push the top clip to fully seat mid A-pillar, Pull seal over trim

     

122. Reseat LH front door seal along lower A-pillar trim

     

123. Connect first responder loop and 12V negative terminal
     Note

     1x nut, 10mm, 6 Nm, 1x connector, Engage locking tab, Connect FRL first before connecting 12V to avoid damage to car computer

     

     

124. Install rear apron
     Note

     14x clips, Hold rear wall of frunk to keep from flexing while engaging front clips

     

     

125. Close hood
126. Move LH front seat forward
127. Install LH front seat belt retractor to seat
     Note

     Insert retractor into seat pre tensioner, Make sure it locks into position with push-pull-push test

     

128. Install LH front seat rear fasteners
     Note

     2x patch bolts, T45P, 33.5 Nm, Install new patch bolts

     

129. Move LH front seat backward
130. Install LH front seat front fasteners
     Note

     2x patch bolts, T45P, 33.5 Nm, Install new patch bolts

     

131. Move LH front seat to original position
132. Raise all windows
133. Close all four doors
     Note

     If 12V is powered up, Unlatch rear doors before closing
