Seat Cushion - Lower - 2nd Row (Remove and Replace)

Remove

  1. Move the driver seat and the front passenger seat fully forward.

    Note
    Note the position of the driver seat and the front passenger seat prior to movement so that both seats are restored to their original position during installation.
  2. Lift the front edge of the 2nd row lower seat cushion upward, and then rest the cushion against the 2nd row seat back.
  3. Disconnect the electrical connector on the LH side of the seat cushion, and then remove the seat cushion from the vehicle.

    CAUTION
    If performing additional procedures that require folding the second row seatback down with the lower cushion removed, do not place any additional weight on the seatbacks. Doing so may damage the seat frame alignment tabs, which can cause unevenness between the 60 and 40 seatbacks.
  4. Inspect the ancillary bay probe lid cover on the ancillary bay for the presence of a breather.
  5. If the breather is missing, install one now.

    Note
    After installing the breather, if necessary, return to the procedure that required removal of the 2nd row lower seat cushion.

Install

  1. Position the seat cushion in the vehicle.
  2. Connect the electrical connector on the LH side of the seat cushion.
  3. Insert the seat belt buckles through the seat cushion holes.
  4. Slide the seat cushion rearwards, align the grooves in the foam with the seat rails, and then carefully push down on the cushion until it snaps onto the seat rails.
  5. Make sure that the seat cushion is fully seated with a push and pull test.
  6. Move the driver seat and the front passenger seat to their original position.
