Set up A/C machine
NoteTouch time only, Connect to power, Turn power switch on
- Open all four doors
- Lower all four windows
- Move LH front seat forward

Raise LH front seat cushion to maximum height
NoteAdjust seat back if needed to avoid contacting headliner

Remove console lower rear panel

Remove LH rear exterior hardware from center console
Note1x bolt, 10mm, 7 Nm

Move LH front seat backward
NoteEnsure profile is saved to allow seat position to be restored
- Move RH front seat forward

Raise RH front seat cushion to maximum height
NoteAdjust seat back if needed to avoid contacting headliner

Remove RH rear exterior hardware from center console
Note1x bolt, 10mm, 7 Nm
- Move the RH front seat back.
- Open the hood.

Remove the rear apron.

Remove frunk access panel

Remove fasteners securing frunk assembly

Remove frunk assembly from vehicle
Note4x clips, Replace any clips if broken or missing

Remove HEPA filter assembly
Note2x bolts, 10mm, 5 Nm, Pivot rearward edge up and past brake reservoir, Then lift up to clear frunk assembly, Note: Not all Model Y vehicles have a HEPA filter assembly installed

Disconnect the 12V negative battery cable and First Responder Loop.

Remove caps from low side and high side A/C ports

Perform refrigerant system recovery

Remove LH wiper arm nut cover

Disconnect washer hose from LH wiper arm to Y-tube fitting and release washer hose clip

Remove clip securing LH lower A pillar trim

Remove LH lower A pillar trim
Note6x clips, 2 guide tabs, Pull rear of lower A pillar upward to release clip then pull rearward to release trim panel

Remove LH front floor mat

Remove LH console side panel carpet
Note10x clips, 1x guide pin, Use trim tool starting at top edge to release upper clips, then pull bottom to release remaining clips, Use caution and pull panel straight away from console, if panel is peeled off it could be damaged

Remove LH front exterior hardware from center console
Note2x bolts, 10mm, 7 Nm, The relatively newer vehicles are equipped with a T30 bolt.

Remove screw and clips securing LH footwell cover

Remove connectors from LH footwell cover and remove from vehicle

Remove fasteners securing driver knee air bag to vehicle
Note2x push clips, 2x screws, T20, 2 Nm, 4x patch bolts, E10, 8 Nm, Discard after removal, Support the knee air bag while lowering, The connector / harness length is very short

Remove driver knee air bag

Remove superdash assembly
Note16x bolts, 10mm, 12 Nm, 2x grommets, 1x harness clip, Release harness grommets then feed harness through to underhood, Remove superdash from interior

Install superdash assembly
Note16x bolts, 10mm, 12 Nm, 2x grommets, 1x harness clip, Install superdash from interior, Feed harness through from underhood, Position iBooster studs to dash, Secure harness grommets

Slide lower shaft into column until it bottoms out
-
Position steering column into place for installation
NoteClear lower shaft through bulk head while supporting front side of steering column up towards roof of vehicle,

Connect steering column to steering gear assembly
NoteSlide steering column downward to install steering gear assembly, Ensure the intermediate shaft is aligned and fully seated
-
Install bolt securing intermediate shaft assembly to steering gear assembly
Note1x bolt, 13mm, 18 Nm, Install new bolt

Install RH wiper arm and hose assembly onto vehicle

Install nut securing RH wiper arm to wiper module
Note1x nut, 15mm, 25 Nm, Make sure the wiper tip is aligned between the two indicators at corner of windshield

Install RH wiper arm nut cover
Note1x cover

Connect washer hose from RH wiper arm to Y-tube fitting and secure washer hose clips
Note1x clip, 1x hose

Install LH wiper arm and hose assembly onto vehicle

Install nut securing LH wiper arm to wiper module
Note1x nut, 15mm, 25 Nm, Make sure the wiper tip is aligned between the two indicators at windshield

Install LH wiper arm nut cover
Note1x cover

Connect washer hose from LH wiper arm to Y-tube fitting and secure washer hose clip
Note1x clip, 1x hose

Install HEPA filter assembly
Note2x bolts, 10mm, 5 Nm, Pivot forward edge down past frunk assembly, Then carefully move rear edge past brake reservoir and into position, Gently press on RH side of filter to seat seal onto duct, Note: Not all Model Y vehicles have a HEPA filter assembly installed

Install frunk assembly to vehicle
Note4x clips, 3x locator pins, Replace any clips if broken or missing

Install fasteners securing frunk assembly
Note5x bolts, 10mm, 5 Nm, Newer vehicles may be equipped with 1x push clip securing frunk to washer bottle neck

Install frunk access panel
Note3x clips, 1x connector

Install the rear apron.
- Close the hood.
- Move the RH front seat to its original position.
- Move LH front seat to original position
- Raise all four windows

Close all four doors
NoteIf LV is powered up, Unlatch rear doors before closing

This procedure requires refrigerant evacuation and recharge, Please add specific evacuation and recharge correction code as needed
