Jumper Harness - Trailer Hitch (Remove and Replace)

Remove

  1. Remove the rear fascia. See Fascia - Rear (Remove and Install).
  2. Disconnect the trailer hitch jumper harness electrical connector from the left side body harness.
  3. Release the clip that attaches the trailer hitch jumper harness to the rear fascia bracket.
  4. Release the connector lock, and then disconnect the trailer hitch jumper harness from the hitch assembly.
  5. Release the clip that attaches the trailer hitch jumper harness to the hitch assembly, and then remove the harness from the vehicle.

Install

Installation procedure is the reverse of removal, except for the following:

For EU trailer sockets only: perform the following step to prevent corrosion in the event of water ingress.

  1. Drill a 6 mm drain hole at the lowest point of the trailer socket, at the hinge side of the socket.

    To prevent damage to the wires and pins inside the socket, carefully drill only through the plastic housing.
