Replace

Remove

  1. Open the LH doors and lower the LH windows.
  2. Remove the LH instrument panel end cap. See End Cap - Instrument Panel - LH (Remove and Replace).
  3. Remove the LH middle A-pillar trim. See Trim - A-Pillar - Middle - LH (Remove and Replace).
  4. Remove the LH lower A-pillar trim. See Trim - A-Pillar - Lower - LH (Remove and Replace).
  5. Remove the lower portion of the LH front door seal from the body.
  6. Remove the LH front seat harness guide from the body.
  7. Move the front seats fully forward.
  8. Remove the rear underhood apron. See Underhood Apron - Rear (Remove and Replace).
  9. Disconnect 12V power. See 12V/LV Power (Disconnect and Connect).
  10. Insert the seat belt release key (1133787-00-A) into the bottom of the seatbelt pretensioner coupling to release the seatbelt from the pretensioner.
  11. Remove the LH upper B-pillar trim. See Trim - B-Pillar - Upper - LH (Remove and Replace).
  12. Release the 2nd row seat cushion. See Seat Cushion - Lower - 2nd Row (Remove and Replace).
  13. Partially remove the lower portion of the LH rear door seal.
  14. Remove the LH lower C-pillar trim. See Trim - C-Pillar - Lower - LH (Remove and Replace).
  15. Remove the LH lower B-pillar trim. See Trim - B-Pillar - Lower - LH (Non-Structural Pack) (Remove and Replace)
  16. Remove and discard the patchbolt that attaches the upper D-ring to the top loop.
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Torx T50 socket
    • 3/8 in std ratchet
    • 3/8 in torque wrench (installation only)
    • 3 in extension
  17. Remove the bolts that attach the seat belt webbing guide to the B-pillar, and then remove the guide from the B-pillar.
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 8 mm socket
    • ¼ in std ratchet
    • ¼ in torque wrench (installation only)
  18. Remove and discard the patchbolt that attaches the seat belt retractor to the base of the B-pillar.
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 13 mm 12-point deep socket
    • 3/8 in std ratchet
    • 3/8 in torque wrench (installation only)
  19. Remove the LH front seatbelt from the vehicle.
  20. Disconnect the electrical harness from the seat belt retractor connectors (x2).

Install

  1. Connect the electrical harness to the seat belt retractor connectors (x2).
  2. Install the LH front seatbelt into the vehicle.
  3. Install a new patchbolt to attach the seat belt retractor to the base of the B-pillar.
    40 Nm (29.5 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 13 mm 12-point deep socket
    • 3/8 in std ratchet
    • 3/8 in torque wrench (installation only)
  4. Install a new patchbolt to attach the upper D-ring to the top loop.
    30 Nm (22.1 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Torx T50 socket
    • 3/8 in std ratchet
    • 3/8 in torque wrench (installation only)
    • 3 in extension
  5. Install the seat belt webbing guide to the B-pillar, and then install the bolts that attach the guide to the B-pillar.
    5 Nm (3.7 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 8 mm socket
    • ¼ in std ratchet
    • ¼ in torque wrench (installation only)
  6. Install the LH lower B-pillar trim. See Trim - B-Pillar - Lower - LH (Non-Structural Pack) (Remove and Replace)
  7. Install the LH lower C-pillar trim. See Trim - C-Pillar - Lower - LH (Remove and Replace).
  8. Install the lower portion of the LH rear door seal that was partially removed.
  9. Install the 2nd row seat cushion. See Seat Cushion - Lower - 2nd Row (Remove and Replace).
  10. Install the LH upper B-pillar trim. See Trim - B-Pillar - Upper - LH (Remove and Replace).
  11. Install the LH front seatbelt pretensioner coupling onto the LH front seat pretensioner.

  12. Connect 12V power. See 12V/LV Power (Disconnect and Connect).
  13. Install the rear underhood apron. See Underhood Apron - Rear (Remove and Replace).
  14. Move the front seats fully rearward.
  15. Install the LH front seat harness guide to the body.
  16. Install the lower portion of the LH front door seal to the body.
  17. Install the LH lower A-pillar trim. See Trim - A-Pillar - Lower - LH (Remove and Replace).
  18. Install the LH middle A-pillar trim. See Trim - A-Pillar - Middle - LH (Remove and Replace).
  19. Install the LH instrument panel end cap. See End Cap - Instrument Panel - LH (Remove and Replace).
  20. Perform a pull test on the belt to ensure proper installation. Will webbing up with force to ensure the pretensioner coupler was properly installed. Next, pull out all the webbing from the retractor. Webbing should smoothly retract after you have pulled it all out. Lastly, quickly tug at the webbing in a downward motion, retractor should lock.
  21. Close the LH doors and raise the LH windows.
