1. Open liftgate.

   

2. Remove liftgate upper trim.
   Note

   15x clips, 2x locating pins, 2x tabs, Use trim tool to remove side clips first, Remove upper clips last.

   

   

   

   

   

3. Remove liftgate lower trim.
   Note

   2x push clips, 12x clips, 6x locating pins, 1x connector, Remove the push cards with asterisks on both sides as shown in the image, and then remove the fixing clips of the decorative panel in sequence. When removing the last clip, hold the decorative panel with one hand to prevent it from suddenly falling and damaging the connector, start by the left lower corner in order to disconnect the harness.

   

   

   

   

   

   

   

   

   

   

4. Disconnect LH FM antenna amplifier.
   Note

   1x connector

   

5. Disconnect RH FM antenna amplifier.
   Note

   1x connector

   

6. Disconnect LH ground noise filter antenna from backlight glass.
   Note

   1x connector, Be cautious not to cause damage to glass.

   

7. Disconnect noise filter antenna from RH side of backlight glass.
   Note

   1x connector

   

8. Disconnect the CHMSL connector.

   

9. Secure double suction cup handles onto both side of backlight glass.
   Note

   Clean glass under suction cups if needed.

   

10. Open liftgate.

    

11. Break datums (X2) on both sides to ease removal of glass.

    

    

12. Break H-clips free from backlight glass on both sides.
    Note

    2x H-clips, Use a thin hydroblade attachment and lubricate with window cleaner for best results.

    

    

    

13. Prepare WRD Spider 3 glass removal kit.

    

    

14. Loop cutting string through the wire starter.

    

15. Insert tool through roof glass urethane at rear corner.
    Note

    Take caution when doing this, Avoid damage to painted surfaces, Use the protective shield.

    

    

16. Pull the nylon string through.
    Note

    Ensure you pull enough string through to wrap around the perimeter of the glass, Both ends of the wire can stay inside the vehicle interior and does not need to pulled through completely

    

17. Attach anchor point to interior of backlight glass assembly and secure line.

    

18. Secure interior side of line to the spider cutting tool.
    Note

    Follow instructions on spider tool, Feed line through opening of the cutting tool and tie a knot to secure in place, If spindle is not turned the proper direction the cutting tool will be damaged.

    

    

19. Secure spider cutting tool to interior side of fixed roof glass assembly.
    Note

    Note orientation of the cutting line, Make sure line warps over large pully and holds at a 90 degree angle.

    

20. Secure angle driver to electric drill.

    

    

21. Use drill to cut urethane around the glass.
    Note

    Suggest using the guard or a trim tool to apply pressure, If the line gets stuck then try to pull it backwards in order release from under datums, You can also try swapping position of the anchor and cutting tool if the line is caught.

    

22. Remove backlight assembly from vehicle.
    Note

    2x suction cup handles, Recommend assistance, Lift up on glass from interior of vehicle to ease removal,Lower the trunk right before latching.

    

23. Remove datums and any other debris from the body.
    Note

    Shop air may be needed to blow out fine debris.

    

    

24. Remove remaining urethane from liftgate body.
    Note

    Ensure residual urethane is 1mm or less in thickness.

    

    

25. Remove remaining urethane from backlight assembly.

    

26. Use a razor blade to remove any residual urethane at the CHMSL H-clip mounting points (x2).
    Note

    Any remaining urethane must be no more than 1 mm thick.
    
27. Clean locators double sided tape residue.
    Note

    If needed, an eraser wheel can be used.

    

    

28. Remove all spacer pads (x11).

    

29. Clean all mating surfaces with IPA
    Note

    Remove any finger prints or markings that will be visible under the CHMSL.

    

    

30. Install locators to backlight glass.

    

31. Install spacer pads to backlight glass.

    

32. Install backlight glass to liftgate for dry fit.
    Note

    Recommend assistance.

    

33. Check gap and flush of liftgate glass.
    Note

    Make notes of any needed adjustments, Refer to Panel Alignment Specifications for latest specifications.

    

    

34. Remove glass and place upside down on stand.

    

35. Install the H-clips (x2) on the CHMSL.
    Note

    Slide CHMSL onto H-clips evenly until locked into place.
    
36. Apply urethane primer to liftgate body along the urethane path.
    Note

    Allow primer to dry for 2 minutes before applying urethane.

    

37. Apply urethane primer to backlight glass H-clip engagement locators (x2).
    Note

    Allow primer to dry for 2 minutes before applying urethane.
    
38. Prepare caulking gun and urethane.
    Note

    Opening must be 8mm wide and 13mm tall.

    

    

39. Apply urethane to backlight glass following primer path.
    Note

    Fill any gaps and smooth over any peaks in urethane to ensure consistent bead.

    

40. Apply a small amount of urethane to the CHMSL H-clips (x2).
    
41. Install the CHMSL on the backlight glass, making sure the H-clips (x2) are positioned on the primer on the backlight glass.
    
42. Apply tape to secure the CHMSL during glass installation.
    Note

    Ensure CHMSL connector and tape will be accessible after glass installation
    
43. Flip over rear backlight glass and install it onto vehicle.
    Note

    Recommend assistance.

    

    

44. Check gap and flush of backlight glass and adjust as needed.
    Note

    Trim tools and sandbags can be used to adjust fitment, Allow glass 10 minutes of dry time before opening liftgate. Refer to Panel Alignment Specifications for latest specifications.

    

    

    

    

45. Remove the double suction cup handles and any glass fitment equipment.

    

46. Remove the tape from the CHMSL.
    
47. Connect CHMSL connector (x1).

    

48. Connect noise filter antenna onto RH side of backlight glass.
    Note

    1x connector

    

49. Connect LH antenna filter to liftgate glass.
    Note

    1x connector

    

50. Connect RH FM antenna amplifier.
    Note

    1x connector

    

51. Connect LH FM antenna amplifier.
    Note

    1x connector

    

52. Install liftgate lower trim.
    Note

    2x push clips, 12x clips, 6x locating pins, 1x connector, Install the trim panel in the order shown in the picture, Check the trim panel clips before installation and replace any damaged clips.

    

    

    

    

    

    

    

    

    

    

53. Install liftgate upper trim.
    Note

    15x clips, 2x locating pins, 2x tabs, Secure top portion first, then sides, Ensure tabs align with liftgate lower trim.

    

    

    

    

54. Close liftgate.
