Overlay

  1. Raise and support the vehicle.
  2. Open both front doors and lower both front windows.
  3. Open the hood.
  4. Remove the rear apron.
  5. Remove HEPA filter assembly

    2x bolts, 10mm, 5 Nm, Pivot rearward edge up and past brake reservoir, Then lift up to clear frunk assembly, Note: Not all Model Y vehicles have a HEPA filter assembly installed
  6. Remove frunk access panel

  7. Remove fasteners securing frunk assembly

    (*Use this ALL MODELS version of the step for multiple-model type procedures) 5x bolts, 10mm, 5 Nm, Newer vehicles may be equipped with 4x bolts and 1x push clip securing frunk to reservoir neck
  8. Remove clip securing frunk to washer fluid reservoir neck

  9. Remove frunk assembly from vehicle

    4x clips, Replace any clips if broken or missing
  10. Remove the cowl screen. See Panel - Cowl Screen (Remove and Replace).
  11. Remove RH mid A pillar assembly

    1x clip, 1x tab, Release the upper clip then pull mid A pillar upward to remove
  12. Remove clip securing RH lower A pillar trim

  13. Remove RH lower A pillar trim to release seat harness.

    6x clips, 2 guide tabs, Pull rear of lower A pillar upward to release clip then pull rearward to release trim panel
  14. Move the RH front seat back.
  15. Remove RH front floor mat
  16. Release RH footwell assembly from IP

  17. Disconnect RH footwell lighting and speaker connectors

  18. Remove RH console side panel carpet

    11x clips, 1x guide pin, Use trim tool starting at top edge to release upper clips, Pull bottom to release remaining clips, Use caution and pull panel straight away from console, if panel is peeled off it could be damaged
  19. Remove clip securing RH front cabin carpet to body

  20. Fold RH front cabin carpet rearward

  21. Remove RH front wheel cap

    1x cap, Use both hands to gently pull wheel cap to release clips, Wheels may be equipped with center caps
  22. Loosen RH front wheel

  23. Raise vehicle partially and lower lift onto locks

    Set vehicle to comfortable working height, Make sure there's an audible click of the locks on both sides before lowering, Otherwise vehicle may tilt to the side
  24. Remove RH front wheel

  25. Release RH front wheel liner from vehicle and set aside

  26. Disconnect RH side repeater and camera

  27. Lower vehicle partially and set lift onto locks

    Raise lift off locks, then hold lock release lever to keep locks free while vehicle is lowered, Set vehicle to comfortable working height
  28. Remove fresh air intake duct

    1x bolt, 10mm bolt, 4 Nm, 1x datum, 2x ears, Set ears on bulkhead studs, Secure to thermal bar
  29. Release windshield heater connecter

  31. Remove electrical tape securing harness bundle to rubber dust boot

    Use a razor blaze, carefully cut electrical tape away to expose rubber dust boot
  32. Remove locking pin from connector

    Carefully pry pin out of connector and fully remove locking pin
  33. Remove coax cable needed for the side repeater overlay MY terminal 2 (RHS)

    Inspect all components for damage
  34. Apply harness tape onto RH coax overlay cable before installation

    Use Anti-abrasion tape and wrap the entire length of the coax cable to protect the cable for damage when it is in the vehicle
  35. Position MY RH coax overlay cable into place, Place through RH wheel liner

    Pull till you have roughly 12 inches of cable towards the interior of the vehicle
  36. Pull RH coax overlay cable through RH grommet harness

    Pull harness toward car computer under RH grommet main harness
  37. Tape coax overlay onto fish nylon tape
  38. Pull RH coax overlay cable through bulkhead and into interior cabin
  39. Remove nylon fish tape

  40. Release side repeater cameras connector X870 from car computer

    1x connector, Release red tab before removing connector
  41. Remove locking pin from side repeater cameras connector

    Carefully pry pin out of connector and fully remove locking pin
  42. Remove MY coax terminal 2 (RHS) cable from connector

    Inspect all components for damage
  43. Insert new side repeater coax terminal 2 (RHS) cable onto side repeater cameras connector

    Ensure both coax cables are fully seated into connector, Audible locking and flush mounting to confirm
  44. Secure locking pin to connector

    Align tabs of lock in connector housing, Ensure flush installation of locking pin to connector housing
  45. Install side repeater cameras connector x870 onto car computer

  46. Position MY RH coax overlay cable onto frunk main harness, Secure cable onto harness using zip ties

  47. Cut off the vehicle side repeater coax terminal and tape to vehicle harness

  48. Conect the front harness connectors for the RH side repeater and camera

  49. Secure RH grommet from body

  51. Install RH front wheel

  52. Lower vehicle until tires are touching ground

    Raise lift off locks, then hold lock release lever to keep locks free while vehicle is lowered
  53. Torque RH front wheel nuts

  54. Install RH front wheel cap

    1x cap, Align valve stem with wheel cap cavity
  55. Install the cowl screen. See Panel - Cowl Screen (Remove and Replace).
  56. Install fresh air intake duct

  57. Install HEPA filter assembly

    2x bolts, 10mm, 5 Nm, Pivot forward edge down past frunk assembly, Then carefully move rear edge past brake reservoir and into position, Gently press on RH side of filter to seat seal onto duct, Note: Not all Model Y vehicles have a HEPA filter assembly installed

  59. Secure frunk to washer fluid reservoir neck

  61. Install frunk access panel

  63. Close the hood.
  64. Fold RH main carpet back in place
  65. Install clip securing RH front cabin carpet to body

  69. Install RH lower A pillar trim

  70. Install clip securing RH lower A pillar trim

  71. Install RH mid A pillar assembly

    1x clip, 1x tab, Align the bottom tab then push the top clip to fully seat mid A pillar, Make sure the seal seat on top of the trim
  72. Move RH front seat to original position
  73. Install RH front floor mat
  74. Clear DAS Calibration through UI

    Controls > Service > Camera Calibration, Select Clear Calibration, Verify calibration was cleared successfully, Wait for prompt to disappear automatically before continuing, Calibration in Progress message and progress icon will appear during the next drive cycle
  75. Verify operation of windshield washers and wipers

    Fully press and hold the button on the end of the left-hand steering column lever to spray washer fluid onto the windshield, While spraying the windshield the wipers turn on, After releasing the button the wipers perform two additional wipes then a third wipe a few seconds later
