Sensor - Parking Distance - Inner - Front (Remove and Replace)

Note
Inner parking distance sensors are S3 and S4. Outer parking distance sensors are S1, S2, S5, and S6. See Sensor - Parking Distance - Outer - Front (Remove and Replace)

    Remove

    1. Remove the rear underhood apron. See Underhood Apron - Rear (Remove and Replace).
    2. Remove the underhood storage unit. See Underhood Storage Unit (Remove and Replace).
    3. Release the locking tab, and then disconnect the electrical harness from the front inner parking distance sensor.

      CAUTION
      DO NOT push down on the red locking tab. Pull the tab away from the connector until the connector is unlocked, and then continue pulling to release the connector.

      Note
      As pictured, there are 2 inner parking sensors on the front fascia. Disconnect the sensor that needs servicing, or both.
    4. Release the tabs (x2) that attach the front inner parking distance sensor to the front fascia, and then remove the sensor from the fascia.

    Install

    1. Install the parking sensors onto the front fascia.
    2. Connect the electrical harness to the front inner parking distance sensor, and then engage the connector lock.
    3. Install the underhood storage unit. See Underhood Storage Unit (Remove and Replace).
    4. Install the rear underhood apron. See Underhood Apron - Rear (Remove and Replace).
    5. Consult the parts catalog to determine the type of parking sensor installed on the vehicle. If the vehicle is equipped with Tesla USS, run the following Toolbox 3.0 routines in the order listed:

      2. PROC_USM_FRONT_PROGRAM-USS-ADDRESSESvia Toolbox: (link)via Service Mode: Driver Assist ➜ Sensors ➜ Program Front USS
    6. Remove the laptop from the vehicle.
