Camera - Bi - Forward Facing (Remove and Replace)

Remove

  1. Open the LH front door and lower the LH front window.
  2. Remove the lower quad camera cover. See Quad Camera Cover - Lower (Remove and Replace).
  3. Remove the rear view mirror. See Mirror - Rear View (Remove and Replace).
  4. Release the clips that attach the upper quad camera cover to the windshield bracket, and then separate the cover from the bracket.

    CAUTION
    Carefully release the cover from the windshield bracket, as an electrical harness is still attached.
  5. Release the connector lock, and then disconnect the rearview mirror upper cover assembly.

    Connector count may vary depending on the vehicle configuration.
  6. Release the locking tab, and then disconnect the GNSS antenna connector.
  7. Release the tabs that attach the glare shield to the windshield bracket, and then remove the glare shield from the windshield bracket.
  8. Remove and discard the screws (x4) that attach the forward facing bi camera to the vehicle, and then remove the camera assembly from the vehicle.
    1 Nm (.7 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • T10 bit
  9. Release the locking tabs, and then disconnect the forward facing camera assembly connectors (x2).

Install

  1. Clean the inner windshield camera viewing area with a clean microfiber cloth and glass cleaner. Let the windshield fully dry before continuing.

    CAUTION
    Verify that the windshield has no stains or leftover residue. Otherwise, Autopilot features may be hindered.
  2. Position the forward facing camera into the vehicle, connect the connectors (x2), and then secure the connector locks.
  3. Install new screws (x4) that attach the forward facing bi camera to the vehicle.
    1 Nm (.7 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • T10 bit
  4. Position the glare shield to the windshield bracket, and then secure the tabs (x2) that attach the glare shield to the windshield bracket.
  5. Connect the GNSS antenna connector, and then secure the connector lock.
  6. Connect the rear view mirror upper cover assembly, and then secure the connector locks.

  7. Connect the interior camera connector, and then install the clips that attach the upper quad camera cover to the vehicle.
  8. Connect a laptop with Toolbox 3 to the vehicle.
  9. Unlock the vehicle gateway. See Gateway (Unlock).
  10. On the vehicle touchscreen, tap Driver Assist > Cameras > Reset DAS.

    Note
    Make sure all cameras and reset DAS icon turn green.
  11. Click the Actions/Autodiag, and then search for "Calibration Mode".
  12. Click DAS Enter Calibration Mode, click Run, and allow the routine to complete.
  13. Click Actions, and then search for "Front Camera".
  14. Click PING-HTTP_DAS_X_MAIN-CAMERA-SCRIPTSearch for routine in ToolboxFront Cameras Connection Test, change the timeout to "100", and then click Run.

    The routine will need to be performed within a 5 minute calibration window.

    Choose the routine that has the "SCRIPT" at the end of the path name.
  15. Click the Actions, and then search for "Fisheye Camera".
  16. Click PING-HTTP_DAS_X_FISHEYE-CAMERA-SCRIPTSearch for routine in ToolboxFisheye Camera Connection Test, and then click Run.

  17. Adjust the forward facing camera. See Camera - Forward Facing (Pitch Verification).
