attaches the front drive unit inverter inlet hose to the fluid coupling, and then plug
the hose and the fluid coupling.
-
Position the coolant drain underneath
RH front of the front drive unit.
-
Disconnect the clip that attaches the
front drive unit inverter inlet hose to the heat exchanger, and then plug the hose end
and the heat exchanger.
- Lower the vehicle.
-
Remove the clip that attaches the
inverter-to-heat exchanger hose to the front drive unit, and then remove the hose from
the vehicle. Remove the coolant plugs from each hose end, if the hose is being
discarded.
Install
-
Position the inverter-to-heat
exchanger hose on the front drive unit, and then secure it with clip.
- Raise and support the vehicle. See Raise Vehicle - 2 Post Lift.
-
Position the coolant drain underneath
LH front of the front drive unit.
-
Remove the plug from the fluid
coupling, and then connect the front drive unit inverter inlet hose to the fluid
coupling. Secure the hose with the spring clip.
NotePerform push-pull-push test to make sure the hose is fully engaged.

CAUTIONMake sure the vehicle is not in drive state. Putting vehicle into drive state will stop this routine.NoteThe test lasts approximately 10 minutes. Routine is still running despite the stop message. The coolant pumps will be audible. Coolant pump speeds can be monitored in Garage under the PT Thermal tab. Idle speed = ~1500 RPM, Test will vary speeds from 3500-6500 RPM and actuate valve between SERIES and PARALLEL.NoteIf the coolant speeds hover at 7000 RPM, that means the coolant pumps are air locked. Therefore, perform this step again.NoteContinue to add coolant and purge until the coolant level reaches between the NOM and MAX Lines on the coolant bottle.NoteSelect ‘X’ at top right of window to close once completed. - Disconnect the laptop from the vehicle.
- Inspect the coolant level and top off, if needed.
- Install the underhood storage unit. See Underhood Storage Unit (Remove and Replace).
- Install the rear underhood apron. See Underhood Apron - Rear (Remove and Replace).
