Procedure
- Remove the rear wheel. See Wheel Assembly (Remove and Install).
- Attach the brake rotor runout tool to the LH rear knuckle and route the flexible bar up towards the aft link.
-
Move the flexible bar so
that the indicator rod of the brake rotor runout tool touches the bolt of
the upper ball joint connecting the aft link to the knuckle, and then set
the measurement to zero.
NoteMake sure the indicator rod is properly depressed to allow travel in both directions without bottoming out.
-
Insert a medium size prybar
between the aft link and the knuckle.
NoteMake sure the prybar is pushing the noted area to avoid rotation of the aft link.
-
Move the prybar from left to
right to force the rear knuckle to move, and note the values of the
indicator when the knuckle assembly moves.
NoteThe maximum allowed play is 1,00mm. If the play is more than 1,00mm, replace the upper ball joint of the rear knuckle.WarningThe video(s) included in this procedure are meant as an overview for supplemental purposes only.
