- 1064697-00-B - KIT, BRAKE ROTOR RUN OUT
Procedure
- Remove the rear wheel. See Wheel Assembly (Remove and Install).
- Attach the brake rotor runout tool to the rear knuckle and route the flexible bar up towards the aft link.
-
Move the flexible bar so
that the indicator rod of the brake rotor runout tool touches the bolt of
the upper ball joint connecting the aft link to the knuckle, and then set
the measurement to zero.
NoteMake sure the indicator rod is properly depressed to allow travel in both directions without bottoming out.
-
Insert a medium size prybar
between the aft link and the knuckle at the indicated area.
NoteMake sure the prybar is pushing the indicated area to avoid rotation of the aft link.
- Move the prybar sideways to force the rear knuckle to move, and note the values of the indicator when the knuckle assembly moves.
- Repeat the previous step on the other side of the rear knuckle, and note the values of the indicator when the knuckle assembly moves.
-
Add the two values. The maximum allowed play is 1.00mm (0.039 in). If the
total play is more than 1.00mm (0.039 in), replace the upper ball joint of
the rear knuckle.
