in a roofed or shaded area. Do not perform this procedure directly under an open
sky.

precision cleaning of the windshield for all vehicles:
Procedure

Gently lift the wiper arms away from the
windshield to access the wiper blades, and then clean the wiper blades (x2) with isopropyl
(rubbing) alcohol, especially the edge of the wiper blades.
CAUTIONIf wiper blades show degradation and need to be replaced, recommend customers to replace the wiper blades to prevent reduced camera visibility performance.CAUTIONDo not lift a wiper arm beyond its intended position.NoteRemind customers to periodically clean the edge of the wiper blades as instructed in the Owner's Manual.

Clean the exterior surface of front
windshield.
NoteUse 2 microfiber cloths and Zep windshield cleaner.NoteWhen cleaning, wipe in a circular motion.
- Apply zep windshield cleaner onto one microfiber towel.
- Clean outside surface.
- While the surface is still wet, wipe the windshield with the 2nd microfiber towel thoroughly until it is dry.
- Verify windshield has no stains or residue.
- Allow 1 minute dry time

Inspect the exterior surface of the
triple camera area.
NotePerform the inspection indoors.NoteUse an LED flashlight to illuminate the windshield around the front camera area. Inspect and verify that the entire area is free of any hazing, fogginess, stains and residue. If NOT confident about the presence of haze, smudges or residue, then proceed to removing components to inspect inside surface.NoteIf necessary, have an assistant hold the flashlight in position for the inspection.
- Open the LH front door and lower the LH front window.

Remove the rear view mirror. See Rearview Mirror (Remove and Install).
CAUTIONBe careful not to damage interior trim or the interior of the windshield when removing/installing components. Use only non-marring trim tools and hand tools. Do not use power tools.

Carefully release the clips (x4) that
attach the rear view mirror beauty cover to the vehicle, disconnect the electrical
connectors (x3), and then release the harness clip to remove the cover from the
vehicle.
CAUTIONBe careful when releasing the clips. Make sure the edges of the cover do not contact the temperature and humidity sensor (THS). If possible, do not use tools when releasing the clip closest to the THS.NoteRelease the connector lock before disconnecting the electrical connector.

Release the securing tabs (x2) that
attach the rear view mirror glare shield to the windshield bracket, and then allow the
assembly to hang from the harness.
CAUTIONBe careful not to damage interior trim or the interior of the windshield when removing/installing components. Use only non-marring trim tools and hand tools. Do not use power tools.

Preview all forward facing cameras and
assess visual clarity.

Clean the windshield interior
surface.
NoteUse new microfiber towels and Zep windshield cleaner.NoteMake sure to clean the corners and edges. Clean the notch if applicable. Make sure the towel goes over camera FOV via camera preview.
- Apply Zep windshield cleaner onto one microfiber towel.
- Use the wet microfiber towel to wipe the area thoroughly.
- Use the dry microfiber towel to wipe off area thoroughly.
- Inspect that the windshield area is clean and no lint residuals remain. Verify the interior and exterior of the windshield is not hazy, foggy, stained or has any residue like lint from microfiber towels.

Clean the forward facing camera
lenses.
NoteUse new microfiber towels and Zep windshield cleaner.
- Apply Zep windshield cleaner onto one microfiber towel.
- Use the wet microfiber towel to wipe the lenses thoroughly.
- Use the dry microfiber towel to wipe off the lenses thoroughly.
- Make sure the lenses have no stains or lint residue from the microfiber towels.

Install the rear view mirror glare
shield assembly. See Glare Shield - Rearview Mirror (Remove and Install).

Install the rear view mirror beauty
cover. See Beauty Cover - Rearview Mirror (Remove and Install).

- Connect a laptop with Toolbox 3 to the vehicle. See Toolbox 3 (Connect and Disconnect).
- Unlock the vehicle Gateway. See Gateway (Unlock).

On the vehicle touchscreen, perform the following steps:

On the vehicle touchscreen, check for
the presence of the alerts below. If any of the alerts are present, make sure the THS
electrical connector is properly connected. If the THS connector is properly connected
and the alerts are still present, check for possible damage to the THS and replace it,
if necessary. See Sensor - Temperature and Relative Humidity - Windshield (Remove and Install).
