Shroud - Upper - Steering Column (Remove and Replace)

Remove

  1. Open the LH and RH front doors.
  2. Lower the LH and RH front windows.
  3. Remove the LH and RH middle A-pillar trims. See Trim - A-Pillar - Middle - LH (Remove and Replace).
  4. Remove the LH and RH instrument panel end caps. See End Cap - Instrument Panel - LH (Remove and Replace).
  5. Adjust the steering column fully rearward and fully down.
  6. Open the hood.
  7. Remove the rear underhood apron. See Underhood Apron - Rear (Remove and Replace).
  8. Disconnect LV power. See LV Power (Disconnect and Connect).
  9. Remove the center console phone dock as an assembly, but do not remove the inductive charger from the phone dock. See Phone Dock - Center Console (Remove and Replace).
  10. Remove the instrument panel service panel as an assembly, but do not remove the cabin temperature sensor fan from the service panel. See Service Panel - Instrument Panel (Remove and Replace).
  11. Remove the touchscreen as an assembly, but do not remove the display mechanism from the touchscreen. See Touchscreen (HW3) (Remove and Replace).
  12. Remove the main instrument panel decor. See Decor - Instrument Panel - Main (Remove and Replace).
  13. Remove the driver airbag. See Airbag - Driver (Remove and Replace).
  14. Remove the steering yoke/wheel. See Steering Yoke/Wheel (Remove and Replace).
  15. Pull upward to release the clips (x6) that attach the upper steering column shroud to the lower shroud.
  16. Release the clips (x4) that attach the steering column upper gap hider to the shroud.

Install

  1. Fasten the clips (x4) that attach the gap hider to the shroud.
  2. Align the clips (x6) and datums, and then press downward to install the upper shroud onto the lower shroud.
  3. Install the steering yoke/wheel. See Steering Yoke/Wheel (Remove and Replace).
  4. Install the driver airbag. See Airbag - Driver (Remove and Replace).
  5. Install the main instrument panel decor. See Decor - Instrument Panel - Main (Remove and Replace).
  6. Install the touchscreen. See Touchscreen (HW3) (Remove and Replace).
  7. Install the instrument panel service panel. See Service Panel - Instrument Panel (Remove and Replace).
  8. Install the center console phone dock. See Phone Dock - Center Console (Remove and Replace).
  9. Connect LV power. See LV Power (Disconnect and Connect).
  10. Install the rear underhood apron. See Underhood Apron - Rear (Remove and Replace).
  11. Restore the steering column back to its original position.
  12. Install the LH and RH instrument panel end caps. See End Cap - Instrument Panel - LH (Remove and Replace).
  13. Install the LH and RH middle A-pillar trims. See Trim - A-Pillar - Middle - LH (Remove and Replace).
  14. Raise the LH and RH front windows.
  15. Close the LH and RH front doors.
