HV Harness - HV Battery to Front Drive Unit (Remove and Replace)

Remove

  1. Remove the HV battery. See HV Battery (AWD) (Remove and Install).
  2. Remove the bolts (x3) that attach the LH toeboard brace to the body.
    30 Nm (22.1 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 15 mm socket
  3. Release the bolt that attaches the steering rack input shaft to the steering column intermediate shaft.
    30 Nm (22.1 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 13 mm socket
  4. Slide the steering column intermediate shaft up and off of the steering rack input shaft.

    CAUTION
    Do not spin the steering shaft while disconnected.
  5. Position a coolant drain container under the front of the vehicle to catch vehicle coolant.
  6. Remove the rear powertrain-to-front inverter hose.

    x1 C-clip, x3 clips.

    Note
    Release the hose from the inverter. Release the clips as needed for access.
  7. Remove the HV battery to FDU HV harness.

    x1 EP10 bolt, torque 5 Nm +20 degrees.

    Release the red locking tab and carefully disengage lever to remove the electrical connector.

    Note
    Release the clip from the front drive unit.

Install

  1. Install the HV battery to FDU HV harness.

    x1 EP10 bolt, torque 5 Nm +20 degrees.

    x1 connector, 1x tab.

    Note
    Verify the lever is in the upright and open position, and then carefully seat connector and allow lever to engage. Fully secure the lever and verify the red tab is locked. Do not damage any pins.

    Engage the clip on the front drive unit.
  2. Install the rear powertrain-to-front inverter hose.

    x1 C-clip, 3x clips.

    Note
    Secure the hose and clips, and then perform a push-pull-push test.
  3. Remove the coolant drain container from underneath the vehicle.
  4. Slide the steering column intermediate shaft down and onto the steering rack input shaft.
  5. Install the bolt that attaches the steering rack input shaft to the steering column intermediate shaft.
    30 Nm (22.1 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 13 mm socket
  6. Install the bolts (x3) that attach the LH toeboard brace to the body.
    30 Nm (22.1 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 15 mm socket
  7. Install the HV battery. See HV Battery (AWD) (Remove and Install).
