Center Console Assembly (Remove and Install)

Remove

  1. Open all the doors and open all the windows.
  2. Move the driver and front passenger seats fully forward.
  3. Remove the center console lower rear panel. See Panel - Lower Rear - Center Console (Remove and Replace).
  4. Remove the bolts (x2) that attach the LH and RH rear console carrier to the body.
    12 Nm (8.8 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 10 mm socket
  5. Move the driver and front passenger seats fully rearward.
  6. Remove the LH and RH floor mats.
  7. Remove the LH and RH center console side panel carpets. See Carpet - Side Panel - Center Console - LH (Remove and Replace).
  8. Remove the bolt that attaches the LH toeboard lower bracket to the center console. Repeat this step for the RH bracket.
    10 Nm (7.4 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 10 mm socket
  9. Release the harness clips (x2), and then disconnect the center console electrical connectors (x4).
  10. Remove the bolts (x2) that attach the LH and RH console carrier center bracket.
    12 Nm (8.8 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 10 mm socket
  11. Recline the backrest for the driver and front passenger seats.
  12. With an assistant, remove the console assembly from the vehicle.

    Note
    Lift at the rear of the center console, then rotate the front from under the instrument panel, and then remove the center console assembly through the front passenger door.

    Do not to scratch the seats, instrument panel, or inner door panel.

Install

  1. With an assistant, install the console assembly on the vehicle:

    x3 datums

    Note
    Carefully maneuver the front of the center console assembly under and into the instrument panel carrier and lower the rear of the center console into place. Align the datums into the instrument panel carrier and engage forward.
  2. Install the bolt that attaches the LH toeboard lower bracket to the center console. Repeat this step for the RH bracket.
    10 Nm (7.4 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 10 mm socket
  3. Fasten the harness clips (x2), and then connect the center console electrical connectors (x4).

    Note
    Make sure all connector locks are engaged.
  4. Install the bolts (x2) that attach the LH and RH console carrier center bracket.
    12 Nm (8.8 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 10 mm socket
  5. Install the LH and RH center console side panel carpets. See Carpet - Side Panel - Center Console - LH (Remove and Replace).
  6. Install the LH and RH floor mats.
  7. Move the driver and front passenger seats fully forward.
  8. Install the bolts (x2) that attach the LH and RH rear console carrier.
    12 Nm (8.8 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 10 mm socket
  9. Install the center console lower rear panel. See Panel - Lower Rear - Center Console (Remove and Replace).
  10. Restore the driver and front passenger seats back to their original position.
  11. Raise all windows and close all doors.
