Sensor - Parking Distance - Inner - Rear (HW3) (Remove and Replace)

Note
This procedure is applicable to sensors S9 and S10.
  1. On the vehicle touchscreen, touch Controls > Service > Jack Mode to activate Jack Mode.
  2. Disconnect LV Power. See LV Power (Disconnect and Connect).
  3. Remove the rear fascia assembly. See Fascia Assembly - Rear (Remove and Install).
  4. Disconnect the electrical harness from the parking distance sensor.

    CAUTION
    DO NOT push down on the red locking tab. Pull the tab away from the connector until the connector is unlocked, and then continue pulling to release the connector.
  5. Release the parking distance sensor from the rear fascia assembly.

Install

  1. Install the parking distance sensor to the rear fascia.
  2. Connect the electrical harness to the parking distance sensor.

    CAUTION
    Push the red locking tab into the connector to engage the locking mechanism. DO NOT push down or pull up on the red locking tab.
  3. Install the rear fascia assembly. See Fascia Assembly - Rear (Remove and Install).
  4. Connect LV power. See LV Power (Disconnect and Connect).

    Note
    After connecting LV power, do not shift the vehicle to Drive until the Toolbox routine (further below) is performed. Failure to do so can trigger vehicle alerts.
  5. On the vehicle touchscreen, touch Controls > Service > Jack Mode to deactivate Jack Mode.
  6. Connect a laptop with Toolbox 3 to the vehicle. See Toolbox 3 (Connect and Disconnect).
  7. In Toolbox, click the Actions tab, type TEST-RESET_PARKSearch for routine in Toolbox into the search field, click TEST-RESET_PARKSearch for routine in Toolbox, click Run, and then allow the routine to complete.
  8. In Toolbox, click the Actions tab, type "USS Addresses" into the search field, click PROC_USM_REAR_PROGRAM-USS-ADDRESSESSearch for routine in ToolboxDriver Assist / Sensors - Program Rear USS, click Run, and then allow the routine to complete.
  9. Disconnect the laptop with Toolbox 3 from the vehicle. See Toolbox 3 (Connect and Disconnect).
