  2. Lower LH front window
  3. Connect to vehicle using Toolbox

  4. Select ‘Actions/Autodiag’ and search for ‘Thermal’
  5. Run ODIN routine PROC_VCFRONT_X_START-THERMAL-FILL-DRAIN-COOLANTvia Toolbox:(link)
  6. Disconnect Toolbox from vehicle and remove laptop and Diagnostics Adapter Ethernet Harness

  7. Raise and support vehicle

  8. Turn wheel fully to the right
  9. Open hood

  17. Remove bolts securing fascia bracket to carrier

  18. Remove push clips securing LH front wheel arch liner to fascia and move to the side for access

    5x push clips, Shift bottom of liner down and flex top of liner against tire
  19. Remove bolt securing front fascia to LH fender bracket

  20. Turn wheel fully to the left
  21. Remove push clips securing RH front wheel arch liner to fascia and move to the side for access

    5x push clips, Shift bottom of liner down and flex top of liner against tire
  22. Remove bolt securing front fascia to RH fender bracket

  23. Power off vehicle from center display

  24. Disconnect LV battery connector and First Responder Loop

    2x connectors, Lift up and release green locking tab, Pull black connector lock outwards to release connection
  25. Disconnect front fascia harness

  26. Release front fascia valance from front aero shield

    8x bolts, 10mm, 6 Nm, 2x clips, 2x datums, Do not remove 3x middle bolts
  27. Release fascia from fender brackets and pull forward to remove from vehicle

    Set fascia on protected surface, Recommend assistance
  28. Disconnect active grille shutter actuator connector

  29. Release ambient temperature sensor grommet from active grille shutter
  30. Disconnect ambient temperature sensor connector

  31. Raise vehicle partially and lower onto locks

    Set vehicle to comfortable working height, Make sure there's an audible click of the locks on both sides before lowering, otherwise vehicle may tilt to the side
  32. Place coolant catcher below LH front of vehicle
  33. Disconnect radiator inlet and outlet hoses from top LH side of radiator and allow coolant to drain

  37. Disconnect RH cooling fan module connector

  51. Install active grille shutter onto cooling fan module assembly

    12x locking tabs, 2x clips, Gently place new assembly on flat surface with fans down, Align datums before engaging tabs, Make sure shutter slides inside tab not outside
  52. Position cooling fan module assembly

  53. Torque LH bolt securing cooling fan module assembly to front end carrier

  58. Install radiator inlet and outlet hoses onto top RH side of radiator

    2x spring clips, Remove plugs from both ends of each coolant connection, Perform push-pull-push test to make sure hoses are fully seated
  59. Place coolant catcher below LH front of vehicle
  60. Install radiator inlet and outlet hoses onto top LH side of radiator

    2x spring clips, Remove plugs from both ends of each coolant connection, Perform push-pull-push test to make sure hoses are fully seated
  61. Remove coolant catcher from under vehicle
  62. Connect ambient temperature sensor connector

  63. Secure ambient temperature sensor grommet onto active grille shutter
  64. Install active grille shutter actuator connector

  65. Lower vehicle until tires are touching ground

    Raise lift off locks, then hold lock release lever to keep locks free while vehicle is lowered
  66. Install front fascia onto vehicle and secure fascia to fender brackets

    Recommend Assistance, Route fascia harness while installing, Verify front fascia valance sits under front aero shield before proceeding
  67. Apply Loctite 222 to fasteners and secure front fascia valance to front aero shield

    8x bolts, 10mm, 6 Nm, 2x clips, 2x datums, Insert valance datums into aero shield holes, Do not remove 3x middle bolts
  68. Connect front fascia harness

  69. Install bolt securing fascia to RH fender bracket

  70. Install push clips securing RH front wheel liner to fascia

  71. Remove coolant bottle cap
  72. Place empty coolant container into front storage area
  73. Fill container with at least 15L of coolant
  74. Place filled coolant container into front storage area
  75. Install coolant reservoir adapter cap onto coolant bottle assembly

  76. Setup coolant refill tool

    Verify all valves on refill tool are in the closed position, See image for clarity
  77. Install vacuum refill hose into refill cap on coolant bottle

    Perform push-pull-push test to verify hose is fully installed
  78. Place refill hose inside filled coolant container

    Make sure hose end is fully submerged into coolant
  79. Position overflow hose into empty container
  80. Connect shop air supply to coolant refill tool

    If not already done, Verify refill valve is set to off
  81. Open air inlet valve to draw a vacuum, Once gauge stabilizes, Fully close valve

    Gauge stabilizes roughly (60-70 cmHg), Vacuum should not drop after the valves are closed
  82. Slowly open refill valve to allow coolant to be drawn into system

    Make sure hose end of refill hose is fully submerged during entire process
  83. Once gauge reads zero, close coolant refill valve
  84. Remove coolant refill hose from coolant container
  85. Remove coolant overflow hose from coolant container
  86. Remove vacuum refill hose from refill cap on coolant bottle
  87. Remove coolant reservoir adapter cap from coolant bottle assembly

  88. Remove coolant refill tool from vehicle
  89. Remove both coolant containers from inside underhood area
  90. Connect First Responder Loop and LV battery connector

    2x connectors Secure FRL first, Seat LV battery connection and push black connector lock inwards to secure, Engage green locking tab when fully seated
  91. Connect to vehicle using Toolbox

  92. Select ‘Actions/Autodiag’ tab and search for ‘ Purge'
  93. Select ‘TEST_VCFRONT_X_THERMAL-COOLANT-AIR-PURGE ’, click ‘Run’, and allow routine to complete

    Make sure vehicle is not in drive state, Plan is still running despite the stop message, Coolant pumps will be audible, Test lasts approximately 10 mins, Speeds can be monitored in garage under PT Thermal tab, Idle speed = ~1500 RPM, Test will vary speeds from 3500-6500 RPM and actuate valve between SERIES and PARALLEL, Putting vehicle into drive state will stop this routine, If speeds hover at 7000 RPM, that means the pumps are air locked, perform vacuum fill again, Continue to add coolant and purge until the coolant level reaches between the NOM and MAX Lines on the bottle, Select ‘X’ at top right of window to close once complete
  94. Inspect coolant level and top off as necessary
