Fender Assembly - Front - LH (Remove and Replace)

Correction code 10103002 1.20 NOTE: Unless otherwise explicitly stated in the procedure, the above correction code and FRT reflect all of the work required to perform this procedure, including the linked procedures. Do not stack correction codes unless explicitly told to do so. NOTE: See Flat Rate Times to learn more about FRTs and how they are created. Remove

  1. Press brake pedal to turn on drive rails.
  2. Set air suspension ride height to “Very High” and place into Jack Mode.
  3. Turn wheel fully to the right.
  4. Open the hood.
  5. Remove the LH rocker panel scuff plate. See Scuff Plate - Rocker Panel - LH (Remove and Replace).
  6. Remove the LH rear rocker panel fairing. See Fairing - Rocker Panel - Rear - LH (Remove and Replace).
  7. Remove the LH rocker panel molding. See Molding - Rocker Panel - LH (Remove and Replace).
  8. Remove the front fascia assembly. See Fascia Assembly - Front (Remove and Install).
  9. Raise and support the vehicle. See Raise Vehicle - 2 Post Lift.
  10. Remove the LH front wheel. See Wheel - Front - LH (Remove and Replace).
  11. Remove the LH front wheel arch liner. See Wheel Arch Liner - Front - LH (Remove and Replace).
  12. Remove the LH fender baffle molding.

    Grab the baffle molding and pull..
  13. Remove the LH front side repeater. See Side Repeater - Front - LH (HW3) (Remove and Replace).
  14. Remove the inner bolt that attaches the LH front fender to the body.
    8 Nm (5.9 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 10 mm socket
  15. Remove the lower bolts (x2) that attach the LH front fender to the body.
    8 Nm (5.9 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 10 mm socket
  16. Lower the vehicle until the tires are touching the ground.
  17. Remove the outer bolt that attaches the LH front fender to the body.
    8 Nm (5.9 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 10 mm socket
  18. Remove the bolt that attaches the front fascia fender bracket to the LH headlight.
    5.9 Nm (4.4 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 10 mm socket
  19. Remove the upper bolts (x3) that attach the LH front fender to the body.
    8 Nm (5.9 lbs-ft)

    Note
    Support the fender while the bolts are removed.
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 10 mm socket
  20. Remove the LH front fender from the vehicle.

    Note
    Pull the rear edge of the fender out first to allow the front fascia fender bracket to clear the LH headlight.
  21. Place the fender on a work bench, remove the bolt that attaches the LH front fascia fender bracket to the LH front fender, and then release the tabs (x4) that attach the bracket to the fender to remove it from the assembly.
    4 Nm (2.9 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 10 mm socket
  22. Remove the screws (x3) and release the tabs (x6) that attach the LH front molding sill bracket to the LH front fender, and then remove the bracket from the LH front fender.
    3 Nm (2.2 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Torx T30 socket

Install

  1. Position the LH front molding sill bracket onto the LH front fender, and then install the screws (x3) and tabs (x6) that attach the bracket to the LH front fender.
    3 Nm (2.2 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Torx T30 socket
  2. Position the LH front fascia fender bracket onto the LH front fender, and then install the bolt and tabs (x4) that attach the bracket to the fender.
    4 Nm (2.9 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 10 mm socket
  3. Position the LH front fender onto the vehicle.
  4. Install and hand tighten the upper bolts (x3) that attach the LH front fender to the body.

    Note
    Support the fender while the bolts are removed.
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 10 mm socket
  5. Install and hand tighten the bolt that attaches the front fascia fender bracket to the LH headlight.
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 10 mm socket
  6. Install and hand tighten the outer bolt that attaches the LH front fender to the body.
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 10 mm socket
  7. Install and hand tighten the lower bolts (x2) that attach the LH front fender to the body.
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 10 mm socket
  8. Install and hand tighten the inner bolt that attaches the LH front fender to the body.
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 10 mm socket
  9. Check the LH front fender for gap and flushness and adjust the fender as necessary.

    Note
    Refer to CVIS for current specification.
  10. Torque the bolts (x7) that attach the LH front fender to body.
    8 Nm (5.9 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 10 mm socket
  11. Torque the bolt that attaches the front fascia fender bracket to the LH headlight.
    5.9 Nm (4.4 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 10 mm socket
  12. Install the LH front side repeater. See Side Repeater - Front - LH (HW3) (Remove and Replace).
  13. Raise the vehicle partially and lower onto locks.
  14. Install the LH fender baffle molding.
  15. Install the LH front wheel arch liner. See Wheel Arch Liner - Front - LH (Remove and Replace).
  16. Install the LH front wheel. See Wheel - Front - LH (Remove and Replace).
  17. Remove the vehicle from the lift. See Raise Vehicle - 2 Post Lift.
  18. Install the front fascia assembly, but do not turn off Jack Mode yet. See Fascia Assembly - Front (Remove and Install).
  19. Press the brake pedal to turn on drive rails.
  20. Turn the steering wheel back to center.
  21. Install the LH rocker panel molding. See Molding - Rocker Panel - LH (Remove and Replace).
  22. Install the LH rear rocker panel fairing. See Fairing - Rocker Panel - Rear - LH (Remove and Replace).
  23. Install the LH rocker panel scuff plate. See Scuff Plate - Rocker Panel - LH (Remove and Replace).
  24. Remove air suspension from Jack Mode and set to "Standard".
