Compressor - Air Suspension (Remove and Replace)

Remove

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. See Raise Vehicle - 2 Post Lift.
  2. Connect to the vehicle using a laptop with Toolbox 3. See Toolbox 3 (Connect and Disconnect).
  3. Depressurize the air suspension system. See Air Suspension - Pressurize / Depressurize - Full System.
  4. Disconnect LV power. See LV Power (Disconnect and Connect).
  5. Remove the front fascia assembly. See Fascia Assembly - Front (Remove and Install).
  6. Disconnect the electrical connectors (x2) from the air compressor.
  7. Release the clip that attaches the air compressor wiring harness to the compressor carrier.
  8. Disconnect the air line fittings from the air compressor.
  9. Remove the VOSS fittings (x2) from the air compressor lines.

    Note
    Slide the threaded section up the air line, remove the collet, and then slide threaded section off of air lines. Discard the VOSS fittings after removal.
  10. Remove the bolts and spring seats (x3) that attach the air compressor carrier to the compressor bracket.

    CAUTION
    The air compressor will be free hanging after bolts and springs are removed. Support the assembly with hangers or bungee cords.
  11. Remove the bolts (x4) that attach the air compressor carrier to the air compressor.
  12. Release the clip that attaches the intake line hose to the compressor, and then remove the compressor from the vehicle.

Install

  1. Position the clip that attaches the air line hose to the compressor.

    CAUTION
    Support the air compressor with bungee cords as needed to prevent damage to the assembly.
  2. Install the bolts (x4) that attach the air compressor to the compressor carrier.

    T30, 5.5 Nm
  3. Install the bolts and spring seats (x3) that attach the compressor carrier to the compressor bracket.

  4. Position the clip that attaches the air compressor electrical harness to the compressor carrier.
  5. Connect the electrical harnesses (x2) to the air compressor.
  6. Install new VOSS fittings to the air lines. Remove the white plugs and install the fitting between the white lines indicated on the air lines, then install the VOSS fittings to the air compressor.

  7. Install the front fascia assembly. See Fascia Assembly - Front (Remove and Install).
  8. Connect LV power. See LV Power (Disconnect and Connect).
  9. Pressurize the air suspension system. See Air Suspension - Pressurize / Depressurize - Full System.
  10. Close the hood and remove the vehicle from the lift.
