Door Glass - Rear - LH (Adjust)

Procedure

  1. Check the gap between the LH rear window and LH B-pillar applique.

    Note
    Measure the spots (x3) labeled in example image. Refer to CVIS for current specifications.
  2. Remove the LH rear door panel. See Panel - Door Trim - Rear - LH (Remove and Replace).
  3. Remove the butyl patches that cover the openings in the LH rear door to access the LH rear door regulator isolator clamps.
  4. Remove plugs (x2) that cover the openings in LH rear door to access the LH rear door regulator mounting guides.
  5. Temporarily connect the puddle lamp to the LH rear door.

    CAUTION
    Route the harness/lamp so it will not be damage when the closing the door.
  6. Connect the window switch special tool to the LH rear door harness.
  7. Raise the LH rear door glass partially for access to the foremost regulator isolator clamp.
  8. Loosen the bolt that attaches the LH rear door glass to the foremost regulator isolator clamp enough to maintain glass position but still allow for adjustment.
    8 Nm (5.9 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 10 mm socket
  9. Raise the LH rear door glass partially for access to rearmost regulator isolator clamp.
  10. Loosen the bolt that attaches the LH rear door glass to the rearmost regulator isolator clamp enough to maintain glass position but still allow for adjustment.
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 10 mm socket
  11. Inspect the regulator isolator clamps for glass splinters or other debris, and clean them if necessary.

    CAUTION
    Debris and splinters may damage or shatter the new door glass.
  12. Adjust the LH rear door glass to achieve gap target, and then hand tighten rearmost bolt.
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 10 mm socket
  13. Lower the LH rear door glass partially for access to foremost regulator isolator clamp.
  14. Adjust the LH rear door glass to achieve gap target, and then hand tighten the bolt on the foremost regulator isolator clamp.
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 10 mm socket
  15. Raise the LH rear window fully.
  16. Close the LH rear door.
  17. Check the gap between the LH rear window and LH B-pillar applique.

    Note

  18. Open the LH rear door.
  19. Lower the LH rear door glass partially for access to rearmost regulator isolator clamp.
  20. Torque bolt that attaches the LH rear door glass to the regulator rearmost isolator clamp.
    8 Nm (5.9 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 10 mm socket
  21. Lower the LH rear door glass partially for access to the foremost regulator isolator clamp.
  22. Torque the bolt that attaches the LH rear door glass to the foremost regulator isolator clamp.
    8 Nm (5.9 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 10 mm socket
  23. Raise the window fully.
  24. Close the LH rear door.
  25. Check the flushness between the LH rear door glass and LH B-pillar applique.

    Note

  26. Open the LH rear door.
  27. Loosen the lower LH rear regulator mounting nuts (x2) enough to maintain position but still allow adjustment.
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 10 mm socket
  28. With assistance, adjust the LH rear door glass to achieve flushness target, and then hand tighten the lower LH rear regulator mounting nuts (x2).
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 10 mm socket
  29. Close the LH rear door.
  30. Check the flushness between the LH rear door glass and LH B-pillar applique.

    Note

  31. Open the LH rear door.
  32. Torque the lower LH rear regulator mounting nuts (x2).
    10 Nm (7.4 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 10 mm socket
  33. Lower the LH rear window fully.
  34. Disconnect the window switch special tool.
  35. Disconnect the puddle lamp from the LH rear door.
  36. Install plugs (x2) that cover the openings in LH rear door.
  37. Install the butyl patches that cover the openings in the LH rear door.
  38. Install the LH rear door panel. See Panel - Door Trim - Rear - LH (Remove and Replace).
  39. Connect a laptop with Toolbox 3 to the vehicle.
  40. In Toolbox, click the Actions/Autodiag tab, and then search for "window".
  41. Click TEST-SELF_VCLEFT_REAR-L_CALIBRATE-WINDOWSearch for routine in ToolboxRear Left Window CalibrationLow Voltage Controllers Low Voltage ControllersClosures / Windows - Calibrate, and then click Run and allow the routine to complete.

    Note
    Click the X at the top right of the window to close once complete.
  42. Press LH rear window switch down to second position to activate the auto-lower function, then raise window switch up to second position to activate auto-raise function.

    If window does not lower completely, repeat previous calibration steps.
  43. Disconnect the laptop from the vehicle.
