Harness - Liftgate (Remove and Replace)

Remove
- Open all the doors and lower all the windows.
- Use the touchscreen to place the vehicle into service mode. See Service Mode (Enable and Disable).
- Move the driver seat forward.
- Remove the LH upper B-pillar trim. See Trim - B-Pillar - Upper - LH (Remove and Replace).

Fold the LH 2nd row seat back to the
down position.
NoteIf the seat cushion is not present, protect the seat as required.
- Repeat step 3 through step 5 for the RH side of the vehicle.
- Open the liftgate.
- Remove the rear trunk parcel shelf. See Parcel Shelf - Rear Trunk (Remove and Replace).

Release the clip and tab that attach
the RH side bolster trim to the vehicle, and then remove the bolster trim from the
vehicle.
NoteStart by releasing the upper portion.

Release the clips (x4) that attach the
RH lower C-pillar trim to the mid C-pillar trim.

Release the clips (x3) that attach the
RH mid C-pillar trim to the C-pillar, and then remove the trim from the vehicle.

Release the clips (x7) that attach the
RH upper C-pillar trim to the C-pillar, and then move the trim aside.
- Repeat step 9 through step 12 for the LH side of the vehicle.

Push open the LH coat hook.
-
Release the tabs (x2) that attach the
LH coat hook screw cover to the assembly.
-
Remove the LH coat hook screw.
Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- T25 socket
- Repeat step 14 through step 16 for the RH side of the vehicle.

Remove the bolts (x2) that attach the
rear of the headliner to the vehicle.NoteThe bolts are located on LH and RH side of the headliner.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 10mm socket

Release the clips (x5) that attach the
rear portion of the headliner to the vehicle, and then release the rear of the
headliner.

With assistance, release the coat hook
tether clips (x2) from the body, and then support the headliner.
- Remove the rear underhood apron. See Underhood Apron - Rear (Remove and Replace).
- Disconnect LV power. See LV Power (Disconnect and Connect).
- Remove the lower liftgate trim. See Trim - Liftgate - Lower (Remove and Replace).
- Remove the liftgate speaker grille. See Grille - Speaker - Liftgate (Remove and Replace).
- Remove the upper liftgate grim. See Trim - Upper - Liftgate (Remove and Replace).

Disconnect the liftgate harness
connectors (x2) from the Audio/tuner harness.

Release the clips (x2) that attach the
LH and RH liftgate anti-pinch connectors (x2) to the liftgate, and then disconnect the
connectors.
Tip: Use a pocket screwdriver to release the tab on the connectors.

Disconnect the RH liftgate tail light
connector.
-
Release the clips (x2) that attach the
harness to the liftgate, and then disconnect the RH antenna connector.
-
Disconnect the liftgate close switch
and RH radio tuner electrical connectors.
-
Disconnect the radio tuner module
connector and back up camera coax connector.
-
Disconnect the liftgate high force
cinching actuator connector.
NotePress the locking tabs to release the connector.
-
Disconnect the liftgate latch power
release connector.
-
Remove the bolt that attaches the
ground to the body, and then release the clips (x2) that attach the harness to the
liftgate.
Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 10mm socket

Disconnect the LH liftgate tail light
connector.

Remove the push clip that attaches the
carpet to the bracket, and then release the RH lower C-pillar from the body.

Disconnect the liftgate harness
connectors (x3) from the RH body harness.
-
Remove the bolt that attaches the
ground to the body, and then disconnect the satellite antenna connector.
Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 10mm socket

Release the grommets (x2) that attach
the liftgate harness to the liftgate and body, and then remove the harness from the
vehicle.
Install
-
Position the liftgate harness through
the body and liftgate, and then secure the grommets (x2) that attach harness to the
vehicle.
Tip: Keep the white tape around harness when installing to aid in installation.

Connect the liftgate harness
connectors (x2) to the Audio/tuner harness.
-
Connect the LH and RH liftgate
anti-pinch connectors (x2), and then secure the clips (x2) that attach the harness to
the liftgate.

Connect the RH liftgate tail light
connector.
-
Connect the RH antenna connector, and
then secure the clips (x2) that attach the harness to the liftgate.
-
Connect the liftgate close switch and
RH radio tuner electrical connectors.
-
Connect the radio tuner module
connector and back up camera coax connector.
-
Connect the liftgate high force
cinching actuator connector, and then engage the locking tabs.
-
Connect the liftgate latch power
release connector.
-
Position the ground to the liftgate,
install the bolt that attaches the ground to the liftgate, and then secure the clips
(x2) that attach the harness to the liftgate.
Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 10mm socket

Connect the LH liftgate tail light connector.

Position the ground to the body,
install the bolt that attaches the ground to the body, and then connect the satellite
antenna connector.
Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 10mm socket

Connect the liftgate harness
connectors (x3) to the RH body harness.
-
Position the RH lower C-pillar to the
body, and then install the push clip that attaches the carpet to the bracket.
NoteDo not fully secure the lower C-pillar yet.

With assistance, install the clips
(x2) that attach the coat hook tether clips to the body.
-
Secure the clips (x5) that attach the
rear portion of the headliner to the vehicle.
NoteVerify the clips are properly seated prior to installation.NoteReplace any damaged or missing clips.

Install the bolts (x2) that attach the
rear of the headliner to the vehicle.NoteThe bolts are located on LH and RH side of the headliner.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 10mm socket

Position the RH upper C-pillar trim to
the C-pillar, and then fasten the clips (x7) that attach the trim to the vehicle.
- Install the RH mid C-pillar trim. See Trim - C-Pillar - Mid - LH (Remove and Replace).
- Install the RH side bolster trim. See Bolster - Outer - Seat - 2nd Row - LH (Remove and Replace).

Fold the RH 2nd row seat back to the
vertical position.
NoteRemove seat cushion protection.
- Repeat step 18 through step 21 for LH side of the vehicle.
- Install the upper liftgate grim. See Trim - Upper - Liftgate (Remove and Replace).
- Install the liftgate speaker grille. See Grille - Speaker - Liftgate (Remove and Replace).
- Install the lower liftgate trim. See Trim - Liftgate - Lower (Remove and Replace).
- Connect LV power. See LV Power (Disconnect and Connect).
- Install the rear underhood apron. See Underhood Apron - Rear (Remove and Replace).
- Install the rear trunk parcel shelf. See Parcel Shelf - Rear Trunk (Remove and Replace).
- Install the RH upper B-pillar trim. See Trim - B-Pillar - Upper - LH (Remove and Replace).
- Move driver seat to the original position.
- Repeat step 29 and 30 for the LH side of the vehicle.
- Close the liftgate.
- Raise all the windows and close all the doors.
