Valance - Front Fascia (Remove and Replace)

Torque Specifications

Reuse

Remove

  1. Open the LH front door and lower the LH front window.
  2. Raise the vehicle Raise Vehicle - 2 Post Lift.
  3. Remove the bolts and clips that attach the front fascia valance to the front aero shield.
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 10 mm socket
    • 4 in extension
    • Flex head ratchet/flex head torque wrench
  4. Release the three clips that attach the LH wheelhouse liner to the valance and front fascia.
  5. Release the three clips that attach the RH wheelhouse liner to the valance and front fascia.
  6. Release the electrical harness from the top of the front fascia valance, and then disconnect the electrical harness from the pedestrian warning speaker.

    CAUTION
    DO NOT push down on the red locking tab. Pull the tab away from the connector until the connector is unlocked, and then continue pulling to release the connector.
  7. Release the eight clips that attach the valance to the front fascia.
  8. Remove the two nuts that attach the valance to the front fascia near the wheelhouse liners, and then remove the valance from the vehicle.
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 10 mm deep socket
    • Ratchet/torque wrench

Install

  1. With an assistant, position the valance on the front fascia, and then install the two nuts that attach the valance to the LH and RH wheelhouse liners.
    3 Nm (2.2 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 10 mm deep socket
    • Ratchet/torque wrench
  2. Install the clips that attach the valance to the front fascia assembly.
  3. Connect the electrical harness to the pedestrian warning speaker, and then clip the harness into the valance.

    CAUTION
    Push the red locking tab into the connector to engage the locking mechanism. DO NOT push down or pull up on the red locking tab.
  4. Install the three clips that attach the RH wheelhouse liner to the valance and front fascia.
  5. Install the three clips that attach LH wheelhouse liner to the valance and front fascia.
  6. Position the two valance datums into the front aero shield.
  7. Apply Loctite 222 to the three bolts, and then install the bolts and clips that attach the valance to the front aero shield.
    6 Nm (4.4 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 10 mm socket
    • 4 in extension
    • Flex head ratchet/flex head torque wrench
  8. Lower the vehicle Raise Vehicle - 2 Post Lift.
  9. Raise the LH front window and close the LH front door.
