Hose - Return - Powertrain (Remove and Replace)

Remove

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. See Raise Vehicle - 2 Post Lift.
  2. Remove the rear underhood apron. See Underhood Apron - Rear (Remove and Replace).
  3. Disconnect LV power. See LV Power (Disconnect and Connect).
  4. Remove the LH front and rear wheels. See Wheel Assembly (Remove and Install).
  5. Remove the clips (x6) that attach the rear portion of LH front wheel liner to the vehicle, and then move it aside.
  6. Position a coolant drain container under the front of the vehicle.
  7. Place absorbent material under the front of the HV battery to LH front sill hose.
  8. Release the clip, remove the foam pieces (x2), disconnect the PCS to rear hose from the powertrain return hose, then immediately plug both fittings.
  9. Remove the clips (x6) that attach the front portion of LH rear wheel liner to the vehicle, and then move it aside.
  10. Place a coolant drain container underneath the LH rear of the HV battery.
  11. Place absorbent material under the rear of power return hose.
  12. Release the clip, remove the foam pieces (x3), disconnect the powertrain supply hose from the powertrain return hose, then immediately plug both fittings.
  13. Release the clip that attaches the powertrain return hose to the vehicle.
  14. Remove the powertrain return hose from the rear of vehicle.

Install

  1. Install the powertrain return hose from the rear of vehicle, then fasten the clip.
  2. Remove the plugs, immediately connect the powertrain supply hose to the power return hose, then fasten the clip and install the foam pieces (x3).

    Perform a push-pull-push test on the fittings to make sure that they are secure.
  3. Remove the absorbent material from under the rear of power return hose.
  4. Fasten the clips (x6) that attach the front portion of LH rear wheel liner to the vehicle.
  5. Place a coolant drain container under the front of the vehicle.
  6. Remove the plugs, immediately connect PCS to rear hose to the power return hose, then fasten the clip and install the foam pieces (x2).

  7. Remove the absorbent material from under the front of the HV battery to LH front sill hose.
  8. Remove the coolant drain container from underneath the vehicle.
  9. Fasten the clips (x6) that attach the rear portion of LH front wheel liner to the vehicle.
  10. Install the LH front and rear wheels. See Wheel Assembly (Remove and Install).
  11. Perform the cooling system (partial refill and bleed) procedure. See Cooling System (Partial Refill and Bleed).
  12. Install the underhood storage unit. See Underhood Apron - Rear (Remove and Replace).
  13. Remove the vehicle from the 2 post lift. See Raise Vehicle - 2 Post Lift.
