Camera - Rear Facing (HW3) (Remove and Replace)

Remove

  1. Apply tape around liftgate tail lights and applique

    Apply tape to protect surrounding areas
  2. Remove the LH and RH reverse lights. See Light - Fog/Reverse - Rear - LH (Remove and Replace).
  3. Remove the bolts (x2) that attach the rear facing camera to the vehicle.

    Note
    Take note of the wiring harness routing for the rear facing camera.
  4. Disconnect the rear facing camera connector from the RH liftgate harness.
  5. Remove the grommet from the liftgate.
  6. Route the rear facing camera harness through the liftgate, and remove the camera from the vehicle.

Install

  1. Route the rear facing camera harness through the liftgate and position the camera to the vehicle.
  2. Position the grommet to the liftgate and harness.
  3. Connect the rear facing camera connector to the RH liftgate harness.
  4. Using new bolts (x2), install the rear facing camera to the liftgate bracket.

  5. Install the LH and RH reverse lights. See Light - Fog/Reverse - Rear - LH (Remove and Replace).
  6. Remove all masking tape from the liftgate.
  7. Verify rear backup camera operation. If the camera does not operate correctly, disconnect LV power for 3 minutes. See LV Power (Disconnect and Connect).
