Glare Shield - Autopilot (Remove and Replace)

Remove

  1. Enable Service Mode. See Service Mode (Enable and Disable).
  2. Remove the lower camera cover. See Camera Cover - Lower (Remove and Replace).
  3. Remove the rear view mirror. See Mirror - Rear View (Remove and Replace).
  4. Remove the upper camera cover. See Camera Cover - Upper (Remove and Replace).
  5. Remove the bolts (x2) that attach the glare shield assembly to the windshield, and then release the glare shield from the windshield.
    1 Nm (.7 lbs-ft)

    CAUTION
    An electrical harness is still attached to the glare shield
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • T10 bit
  6. Disconnect the electrical connector from the GNSS antenna, and then release the electrical harness from the glare shield clips.

  7. Remove the screw that attaches the GNSS antenna to the glare shield, and then slide the antenna out of the retaining tabs (x2) to remove the antenna from the glare shield.
    0.8 Nm (7 lbs-in)

    Slide the antenna to the LH side to release it from the bracket.

Install

  1. Position the GNSS antenna on the glare shield, and then install the screw that attaches the antenna to the glare shield.
    0.8 Nm (7 lbs-in)

    Slide the antenna to the LH side to release it from the bracket.
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • T10 bit

  2. Clean the inner windshield camera viewing area with a clean microfiber cloth and glass cleaner. Let the windshield fully dry before continuing.

    CAUTION
    Verify that the windshield has no stains or leftover residue. Otherwise, Autopilot features may be hindered.
  3. Route the electrical harness on the glare shield, and then connect the electrical connector on the GNSS antenna.

  4. Position the glare shield assembly on the windshield, and then install the bolts (x2) that attach the glare shield assembly to the windshield.
    1 Nm (.7 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • T10 bit
  5. Install the upper camera cover. See Camera Cover - Upper (Remove and Replace).
  6. Reset the Driver Assistance System (DAS).
    1. Unlock the vehicle gateway. See Gateway (Unlock).
    2. On the touchscreen Service Mode menu, touch Driver Assist > Cameras > Reset DAS.
    3. On the touchscreen Cameras diagram, confirm that the Reset DAS button is highlighted green and that all DAS components display a green status light.

      Investigate and rectify any DAS components that display a red status light.
  7. Install the rear view mirror. See Mirror - Rear View (Remove and Replace).
  8. Install the lower camera cover. See Camera Cover - Lower (Remove and Replace).
  9. Disable Service Mode. See Service Mode (Enable and Disable).
