Bracket - Support - Shotgun - LH (Remove and Replace)

Remove

  1. Open the LH front door and lower the LH front window.
  2. Raise and support the vehicle on a 2 post lift. See Raise Vehicle - 2 Post Lift.
  3. Remove the rear underhood apron. See Underhood Apron - Rear (Remove and Replace).
  4. Remove the LH and RH underhood aprons. See Underhood Apron - LH (Remove and Replace).
  5. Remove the front underhood apron. See Underhood Apron - Front (Remove and Replace).
  6. Remove the underhood storage unit access panel. See Underhood Storage Unit Access Panel (Remove and Replace).
  7. Remove the underhood storage unit. See Underhood Storage Unit (Remove and Install).
  8. Remove the LH shock tower cover. See Cover - Shock Tower - LH (Remove and Replace).
  9. Disconnect the LH front wheel speed sensor inline electrical connector, and then release the clip.
  10. Remove the center upper bolt that attaches the LH front fender to the shotgun support bracket.
    8 Nm (5.9 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 10 mm deep socket

    Note
    Hold the fender in place so it does not fall when the rest of the bolts are removed.
  11. Remove the bolt that attaches the LH headlight to the LH shotgun support bracket.
    5.9 Nm (4.4 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 10 mm socket
  12. Disconnect the LH front damper harness inline electrical connector.
  13. Release the LH front damper harness clip from the body bracket, and then route out towards the wheel arch liner.
  14. Remove the LH front wheel. See Wheel Assembly (Remove and Install).
  15. Remove the LH front wheel arch liner. See Wheel Arch Liner - Front - LH (Remove and Replace).
  16. Release the push clip for the windshield washer fluid bottle neck.
  17. Remove the bolt that attaches the damper harness body bracket to the LH shotgun support bracket.
    4 Nm (2.9 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 10 mm deep socket
  18. Position an oil drain container underneath the LH front corner of the vehicle.
  19. Remove the nut that attaches the LH front brake hose to the LH shotgun support bracket.
    7 Nm (5.2 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 10 mm deep socket
  20. Disconnect the LH front brake hose nut from the 4 tube bundle LH front brake line.
    16 Nm (11.8 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 12 mm 12-point combination wrench

    Note
    Catch any brake fluid lost in the oil drain container.
  21. Release the clip that attaches the LH front jounce hose to the LH shotgun support bracket.
  22. Remove the bolts (x3) that attach the LH shotgun support bracket to the body, and then remove the bracket from the vehicle.
    30 Nm (22.1 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Torx T40 socket

Install

  1. Position the LH front shotgun support bracket into the vehicle, and then install the bolts (x3) that attach the bracket to the body.
    30 Nm (22.1 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Torx T40 socket
  2. Fasten the clip that attaches the LH front jounce hose to the bracket.
  3. Connect the LH front brake hose to the 4 tube bundle LH front brake line.
    16 Nm (11.8 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 12 mm 12-point combination wrench
    • 12 mm open crowfoot socket

    Note
    Catch any brake fluid lost in oil drain container.
  4. Install the nut that attaches the LH front brake hose to the LH shotgun support bracket.
    7 Nm (5.2 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 10 mm deep socket
  5. Remove the oil drain container from underneath the vehicle.
  6. Install the bolt that attaches the damper harness body bracket to the LH shotgun support bracket.
    4 Nm (2.9 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 10 mm deep socket
  7. Fasten the push clip for the windshield washer bottle neck.
  8. Install the LH front wheel arch liner. See Wheel Arch Liner - Front - LH (Remove and Replace).
  9. Bleed the brakes. See Brake Fluid Bleed/Flush (Remove and Replace).
  10. Route the LH front damper harness in from the wheel arch liner, and then fasten the clip.
  11. Connect the LH front damper harness inline electrical connector.
  12. Install the bolt that attaches the LH headlight to the LH shotgun support bracket.
    5.9 Nm (4.4 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 10 mm socket
  13. Install the upper center bolt that attaches the LH front fender to the body.
    8 Nm (5.9 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 10 mm deep socket
  14. Connect the LH front wheel speed sensor inline electrical connector, and then fasten the clip.
  15. Install the LH shock tower cover. See Cover - Shock Tower - LH (Remove and Replace).
  16. Install the LH front wheel. See Wheel Assembly (Remove and Install).
  17. Install the underhood storage unit. See Underhood Storage Unit (Remove and Install).
  18. Install the underhood storage unit access panel. See Underhood Storage Unit Access Panel (Remove and Replace).
  19. Install the front underhood apron. See Underhood Apron - Front (Remove and Replace).
  20. Install the LH and RH underhood aprons. See Underhood Apron - LH (Remove and Replace).
  21. Install the rear underhood apron. See Underhood Apron - Rear (Remove and Replace).
  22. Remove the vehicle from the lift.
  23. Raise the LH front window and close the LH front door.
  24. Perform a road test. Make sure that proper brake pedal feel and performance is achieved.
