Harness - Front Door - LH (Remove and Replace)

Remove

  1. Remove the LH middle A-pillar trim. See Trim - A-Pillar - Middle - LH (Remove and Replace).
  2. Remove the LH lower A-pillar trim. See Trim - A-Pillar - Lower - LH (Remove and Replace).
  3. Disconnect the door harness electrical connectors (x2), and then release the retainer clip from VC left.
  4. Remove the LH front door decor trim. See Decor - Trim - Front Door - LH (Remove and Replace).
  5. Remove the LH front door trim panel. See Panel - Door Trim - Front - LH (Remove and Replace).
  6. Pull the white tab to release the connector lock, and then disconnect the LH front door handle controller electrical connector.
  7. Disconnect the LH front door pressure sensor electrical connector.

    Note
    DO NOT push down on the red locking tab. Pull the tab away from the connector until the connector is unlocked, and then continue pulling to release the connector.
  8. Remove the bolts (x6) that attach the LH front door closeout panel to the door assembly.
    4.5 Nm (3.3 lbs-ft)

    TIp
    Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 8 mm socket
    • 2 in extension
  9. Release the latch cable grommet from the closeout panel assembly, and then route the grommet and cable through the opening.
  10. Release the clips (x2) that attach the wiring harness to the LH front door closeout panel assembly, and then remove the closeout panel from the vehicle.

    Note
    Release clips from back of the panel to prevent damage.
  11. Disconnect the LH front door speaker electrical connector.

    Release the tabs on either side of the connector.
  12. Remove the screws (x4) that attach the LH front door speaker to the spacer ring.
    1.8 Nm (1.3 lbs-ft)
  13. Lift the LH front door speaker up and away from the LH front door to remove it from the door assembly.
  14. Release the clip that attaches the LH front door harness to the LH front door, release the grommets (x2), and then pull the harness through the body and into the LH front door.

    Note
    1x clip, 2x body grommet
  15. Disconnect the LH front window regulator motor electrical connector.
  16. Remove retaining clips (x2) for door handle harness.
  17. Release the clip that attaches the LH front door handle harness electrical connector to the LH front door, release the connector lock, and then disconnect the LH front door handle harness electrical connector.
  18. Release the locking tab, and then disconnect the LH front door latch assembly electrical connector.
  19. Disconnect the electrical connector, release the clips (x7) that attach the LH front door harness to the LH front door, and then remove the harness from the door.

Install

  1. Position the LH front door harness onto the LH front door, and then connect the electrical connector and secure the clips (x7)
  2. Connect the LH front door latch assembly electrical connector, and then secure the locking tab.
  3. Connect the LH front door harness to the LH front door handle assembly, and then engage the locking tab.

    Note
    Fully seat connector body before engaging the locking tab.
  4. Install the retaining clips (x2) for the LH front door handle electrical connector.
  5. Connect the LH front window regulator motor electrical connector.
  6. Push the LH front door harness through the door and into the body of the vehicle, and then seat the grommets (x2) and install the retaining clip.
  7. Install the LH front door to onto the spacer ring.
  8. Install the screws (x4) that attach the LH front door speaker to the spacer ring.
    1.8 Nm (1.3 lbs-ft)
  9. Connect the LH front door speaker electrical connector.

    Note
    Release the tabs on either side of the connector.
  10. Route the latch cable grommet through the opening in the LH front door closeout panel, and then install the grommet into the closeout panel assembly.
  11. Install the bolts (x6) that attach the LH front door closeout panel to the door assembly.
    4.5 Nm (3.3 lbs-ft)

    Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 8 mm socket
    • 2 in extension
  12. Fasten the clips (x2) that attach the wiring harness onto the LH front door closeout panel assembly.

    Note
    Make sure there is an audible click to fully engage the clip.
  13. Connect the LH front door pressure sensor electrical connector, and then engage the connector lock.
  14. Connect the LH front door handle controller electrical connector, and then engage the connector lock.
  15. Install the LH front door trim panel. See Panel - Door Trim - Front - LH (Remove and Replace)
  16. Connect the electrical connectors (x2) for LH front door harness into VC left, and then secure the clip that attaches the harness to the door assembly
  17. Install the LH lower A-pillar trim. See Trim - A-Pillar - Lower - LH (Remove and Replace).
  18. Install the LH middle A-pillar trim. See Trim - A-Pillar - Middle - LH (Remove and Replace).
  19. Close the LH front door.
