Remove
- Move the vehicle to a 2 post lift. See Raise Vehicle - 2 Post Lift.
- Remove the rear underhood apron. See Underhood Apron - Rear (Remove and Replace).
- Depressurize the LH front active damper. See Air Suspension - Pressurize / Depressurize - Full System.
- Remove the LH front wheel. See Wheel Assembly (Remove and Install).
- Release the clips (x2) and remove the bolt that attach the wheel speed sensor cable to the LH front knuckle.
- Disconnect the electrical harness from the LH front active damper connectors (x2).
- Release the tabs (x2) that attach the LH front active damper harness bracket to the LH front active damper, and then remove the bracket from the damper.
- Remove the bolt that attaches the LH front jounce hose to the LH front active damper.
- Remove the bolt that attaches the LH ANC sensor and damper bracket to the LH front active damper, remove the bracket from the damper, and hang the bracket from an S-Hook.
- Remove the nut and bolt that attach the LH front active damper to the front lower aft link.
- Remove the bolt, and discard the nut that attach the LH front upper control arm to the LH front knuckle, and then remove the control arm from the knuckle.
- Loosen the air suspension line fitting on the top of the LH front active damper, and after all air has been released, remove the fitting from the damper.
- Remove and discard the nuts (x3) that attach the LH front active damper to the body, and then with the help of an assistant, carefully lower the active damper, tilt out, and remove the damper from the vehicle.
- Move the air suspension line fitting up the line to expose the collets, remove and discard the collets, and then remove and discard the fitting from air suspension line.
Install
-
With the help of an assistant,
carefully install the LH front active damper into the LH front wheel well and up into
the LH front shock tower, and then install new nuts (x3) to attach the damper to the
body.
-
Remove the plug from the LH front
active damper air fitting, and then insert the air suspension line all the way into the
fitting.
NotePerform a Push-Pull-Push check to verify that the air suspension line is secure.
-
Install the LH front upper control arm
into the LH front knuckle, and then install the bolt and a new nut to attach the control
arm to the knuckle.
-
Install the nut and bolt that attach
the LH front active damper to the front lower aft link, and then mark the bolt with a
paint pen after tightening.
-
Remove the LH ANC sensor and damper
bracket from the S-hook, route the electrical harness over the lower links and under the
tie rod and axle, install the bracket onto the LH front active damper, and then install
the bolt that attaches the bracket to the damper.
-
Install the bolt that attaches the LH
front jounce hose to the LH front active damper.
- Install the LH front active damper harness bracket to the LH front active damper, and then fasten the tabs (x2) that attach the bracket to the damper.
- Connect the electrical harness to the LH front active damper connectors (x2).
-
Install the bolt, and then fasten the
clips (x2) that attach the wheel speed sensor cable to the LH front
knuckle.
- Install the LH front wheel. See Wheel Assembly (Remove and Install).
- Remove the vehicle from the 2 post lift. See Raise Vehicle - 2 Post Lift.
- Pressurize the LH front active damper. See Air Suspension - Pressurize / Depressurize - Full System.
- Install the rear underhood apron. See Underhood Apron - Rear (Remove and Replace).
- Refer to the Alignment Requirement tables to determine whether an EPAS alignment check (EC) or four wheel alignment check (AC) is necessary. If performed, add the alignment check/adjust as a separate activity. See Alignment Requirement - Suspension.
