Motor - Seat Tilt - Passenger Seat (Remove and Replace)

NOTE: See Personal Protection to make sure proper PPE is worn when performing the below procedure.

    Remove

    1. Remove the RH front seat. See Seat Assembly - 1st Row - RH (Remove and Replace).
    2. Disconnect the seat tilt motor electrical connector.
    3. Remove and discard the bolt that attaches the seat tilt motor adjustment arm to the seat assembly.
      16 Nm (11.8 lbs-ft)

      Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
      • Torx T40 socket
    4. Remove the bolts (x3) that attach the seat tilt motor to the seat assembly.
      7.5 Nm (5.5 lbs-ft)

      Do not remove the fastener for the adjustment arm.

      TIp
      Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
      • 8 mm socket
    5. Remove the seat tilt motor from the seat cushion frame.

    Install

    1. Position the seat tilt motor to seat cushion frame for installation

      Note
      Hold the tilt motor up and against the seat frame. Ensure the motor alignment pins are visible in the seat frame.
    2. Install the bolts (x3) that attach the seat tilt motor to the seat assembly.
      7.5 Nm (5.5 lbs-ft)

      Do not remove the fastener for the adjustment arm.

      • 8 mm socket
    3. Install a new bolt (1109741-00-E) that attaches the seat tilt motor adjustment arm to the seat assembly.
      16 Nm (11.8 lbs-ft)

      • Torx T40 socket
    4. Connect the seat tilt motor electrical connector.
    5. Install the RH front seat. See Seat Assembly - 1st Row - RH (Remove and Replace).
    6. Replacement front seat assemblies and seat cushion frame assemblies are equipped with a newly-designed "mini-tilt" motor, and replacing these parts (or the tilt motor itself) might require a configuration change. Review the configuration information in the table and perform the following substeps if a configuration update is needed.

      1. Access the Vehicle Configuration section of the Infotainment Dashboard. See Gateway Configuration (Display and Change).
      2. Update cfg_frontSeattype according to the combination of tilt motors described in the table.
