Trim - Seat Back – 2nd Row – RH (Remove and Replace)

Remove
- Open the RH front door and lower the RH front window.
- Open the RH rear door.
- Move the front passenger seat fully forward.
- Remove the RH 2nd row seat outer bolster. See Bolster - Outer - Seat - 2nd Row - LH (Remove and Replace).

Fold the RH 2nd row seat back to the
down position.
NoteIf the seat cushion is not present, protect the seat as required.

Disconnect the RH 2nd row seat back
harness electrical connector.

Release the clip that attaches the RH
2nd row seat back harness to the pivot bracket.
- Remove the RH 2nd row seat back panel. See Back Panel – 2nd Row Seat – RH (Remove and Replace).
- Remove the RH 2nd row headrest. See Headrest - 2nd Row - LH (Remove and Replace).
- Remove the LH and RH 2nd row backrest guide locks. See Guide Lock - Headrest - 2nd Row (Remove and Replace).

Remove the bolts (x2) that attach the
RH 2nd row backrest cushion to the back frame.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 10 mm deep socket

Fold the RH 2nd row seat back to the
vertical position, but do not latch the seat back.

Release the clips (x8), disconnect the
backrest harness electrical connector, and then remove the RH 2nd row backrest cushion
from the vehicle.
NoteRelease the upper clips first to disconnect backrest the connector.

Disconnect the RH 2nd row seat back
substrate harness electrical connectors (x2).
-
Release the hooks that attach the
bottom portion of the RH 2nd row seat back trim to the RH 2nd row seat back
insert.
NoteNegotiate the trim under the harness.

Release the clips (x2) that attach the
RH 2nd row backrest cushion heat pad harness to the seat back insert.
-
Release the clips (x5) that attach the
RH 2nd row seat back trim to the RH 2nd row seat back insert.
NoteNegotiate the clips around the substrate harness.

Release the hooks (x6) and clips (x2)
that attach the top portion of RH 2nd row seat back trim to the RH 2nd row seat back
insert.

Pull the top portion of RH 2nd row
seat back trim down and off the RH 2nd row seat back insert.
-
Remove the RH 2nd row seat back insert
from the cushion assembly.
NoteNegotiate the heat pad harness under the substrate harness.

Release the velcro that attaches the
RH 2nd row seat back trim to the 2nd row seat back foam until the hog rings are
visible.
-
Use diagonal cutters to cut the hog
rings (x3) that attach the RH 2nd row seat back trim to the 2nd row seat back
foam.
NotePush down on the foam to allow access to rings.NoteRemove any excess hog ring pieces.

Remove the RH 2nd row seat back trim
from the seat back foam.
Install

Position the RH 2nd row seat back trim
onto the RH 2nd row seat back foam.
-
Use hog ring pliers to crimp the hog
rings (x3) to secure the RH 2nd row seat back trim to the 2nd row seat back foam.
NotePlace the hog ring into the hog ring pliers prior to installation.NotePush down on foam to allow access if necessary.

Secure the velcro that attaches the RH
2nd row seat back trim to the 2nd row seat back foam.
-
Install the RH 2nd row seat back insert into the cushion assembly.
NoteNegotiate the heat pad harness under the substrate harness.

Pull the top portion of RH 2nd row seat back trim up and onto the RH 2nd row seat
back insert.

Secure the hooks (x6) and clips (x2) that attach the top portion of RH 2nd row seat
back trim to the RH 2nd row seat back insert.

Secure the clips (x5) that attach the RH 2nd row seat back trim to the RH 2nd row
seat back insert.
NoteNegotiate the clips around the substrate harness.

Secure the clips (x2) that attach the RH 2nd row backrest cushion heat pad harness to
the seat back insert.

Secure the hooks (x2) that attach the bottom portion of the RH 2nd row seat back trim
to the RH 2nd row seat back insert.
NoteNegotiate the trim under the harness.

Connect the RH 2nd row seat back substrate harness electrical connectors (x2).
-
Position the RH 2nd row backrest
cushion onto the RH 2nd row backrest, connect the backrest harness electrical connector,
and then secure the clips (x8) that attach the cushion to the backrest.
NoteSecure the lower clips first, then connect backrest harness.NoteEnsure all clips are properly seated.
- Fold the RH 2nd row seat back to the down position.

Install the bolts (x2) that attach the
RH 2nd row backrest cushion to the back frame.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 10 mm deep socket
- Install the LH and RH 2nd row backrest guide locks. See Guide Lock - Headrest - 2nd Row (Remove and Replace).
- Install the RH 2nd row headrest. See Headrest - 2nd Row - LH (Remove and Replace).
- Install the RH 2nd row seat back panel. See Back Panel – 2nd Row Seat – RH (Remove and Replace).

Install the clip that attaches the RH
2nd row seat back harness to the pivot bracket.

Connect the RH 2nd row seat back
harness electrical connector.
- Fold the RH 2nd row seat to the up position.
- Install the RH 2nd row seat side bolster. See Bolster - Outer - Seat - 2nd Row - LH (Remove and Replace).
- Close the RH rear door.
- Restore the front passenger seat back to its original position.
- Raise the RH front window and close the RH front door.
