Side Bolster - Outer - Seat Cushion - Driver (Sport Seat) (Remove and Replace)

Remove

  1. Open the LH doors and lower the LH windows.
  2. Remove the LH front seat. See Seat Assembly - 1st Row - LH (Remove and Replace).
  3. With assistance, place the driver seat on a protected surface so that the underside of the seat can be accessed.
  4. Remove the driver seat headrest. See Headrest - Driver Seat (Sport Seat) (Remove and Replace).
  5. Remove the LH front seat décor assembly. See Decor Panel - 1st Row Seat - LH (Sport Seat) (Remove and Replace).
  6. Remove the bolt that attaches the LH front seat outboard side shield to the seat assembly.
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Combination Wrench 12pt 8mm
    • 8 mm socket
    • Cordless Ratchet/Impact Driver
    • Ratchet/torque wrench
  7. Release the LH front seat outboard side shield from the seat assembly.

    Note
    Carefully release the outer side cover from the seat. Do not fully remove.
  8. Disconnect the electric connector from the LH front seat outboard seat switch.
  9. Release the clips (x2) that attach the LH front seat harness to the outboard side bolster carrier.
  10. Remove the LH front seat cushion. See .
  11. Remove the bolts (x2) that attach the LH front seat outer side bolster to the seat frame, and then remove the outer side bolster from the seat frame.

    Note
    Slide the bolster forward to release it from the seat frame.
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 8 mm socket
    • Cordless Ratchet/Impact Driver
    • Ratchet/torque wrench

Install

  1. Install the LH front seat cushion outer side bolster into the seat frame.

    Note
    Align the seat cushion rail along the bolster trim, and then slide it rearward to align the bolt holes.
  2. Remove the bolts (x2) that attach the LH front seat outer side bolster to the seat frame, and then remove the outer side bolster from the seat frame.
    7 Nm (5.2 lbs-ft)

    Note
    Slide the bolster forward to release it from the seat frame.
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 8 mm socket
    • Cordless Ratchet/Impact Driver
    • Ratchet/torque wrench
  3. Install the LH front seat cushion. See .
  4. Connect the electric connector to the LH front seat outboard seat switch.
  5. Install the LH front seat outboard side shield onto the seat assembly.

    Note
    Apply pressure to the outer side cover to fully seat the trim clips. The trim should sit flush against the seat cushion.
  6. Install the bolt that attaches the LH front seat outboard side shield to the seat assembly.
    4 Nm (2.9 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Combination Wrench 12pt 8mm
    • 8 mm socket
    • Cordless Ratchet/Impact Driver
    • Ratchet/torque wrench
  7. Install the LH front seat décor assembly. See Decor Panel - 1st Row Seat - LH (Sport Seat) (Remove and Replace).
  8. Install the driver seat headrest. See Headrest - Driver Seat (Sport Seat) (Remove and Replace).
  9. Install the LH front seat. See Seat Assembly - 1st Row - LH (Remove and Replace).
  10. Raise the LH windows and close the LH doors.
