Carrier - Seal - Rear - B-Pillar - LH (Remove and Replace)

  • 2024-03-28: Added carrier to body rivets (x2) part number and recommended tool.

Remove

  1. Open the LH doors and lower the LH windows.
  2. Remove the LH B-pillar applique. See Applique - B-Pillar - LH (Remove and Replace).
  3. Remove clip that attaches the LH rear body side primary seal to the B-Pillar panel.
  4. Release the LH rear body side primary seal from the rear upper body side B-Pillar carrier.
  5. Drill out the rivets (x2) that secure the LH front upper body side B-Pillar carrier, and then remove the rivets from the vehicle. Use a punch to remove the remaining portion of the rivets.
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 4.5 mm drill bit
  6. Remove any remaining debris from the B-pillar, and then use an IPA wipe to clean the body.

    Allow 1 minute for dry time.

Install

  1. Position the LH rear upper body side B-Pillar carrier onto the vehicle, and then install the rivets (x2) that secure the carrier to the body.

    Note
    Ensure the foam strip is against the body.
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • M18 Fuel Rivet Tool - 1741636-00-A
    • RIVET, BLND, 4.8MM, 6.5-13GRP, AL-STL, GESIPA - 1705662-00-A (or 1705662-99-A)
  2. Align the front portion of the LH rear body side primary seal onto the vehicle, peel off the back side cover for the double sided adhesive, adhere the seal onto the body panel, and then secure the clip that attaches the seal to the body.

    Note
    Ensure the rear primary body seal is seated properly along the bright molding, quarter glass and interior trim.
  3. Install the LH B-pillar applique. See Applique - B-Pillar - LH (Remove and Replace).
