Latch - Hood (Single Actuator) (Remove and Replace)

Torque Specifications

 Reuse

Remove

  1. Remove the underhood storage unit. See Underhood Storage Unit (Remove and Install).
  2. Disconnect the double pull single actuator hood latch wiring harness electrical connector.

    Note
    Pull the red tab to release the connector lock, then pull the red tab again to release the connector.
  3. Compress the tabs (x2) to release the hood latch actuator and cable from the hood latch assembly.
  4. Remove the bolts (x2) that attach the double pull single actuator hood latch to the front end carrier assembly, and then remove the latch from the vehicle.

    Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Flex head ratchet/flex head torque wrench
    • 10 mm deep socket
    • 2 in extension

Install

  1. Position the double pull single actuator hood latch onto the front end carrier assembly, and then install the bolts (x2) that attach the latch to the assembly.
    10 Nm (7.4 lbs-ft)

    Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Flex head ratchet/flex head torque wrench
    • 10 mm deep socket
    • 2 in extension
  2. Install the hood latch actuator and cable into the double pull single actuator hood latch assembly.

    Note
    Make sure the tabs are fully engaged onto the hood latch assembly.
  3. Connect the double pull single actuator hood latch wiring harness electrical connector.

    Note
    Push the red locking tab into the connector to engage the connector lock.
  4. Install the underhood storage unit. See Underhood Storage Unit (Remove and Install).
  5. Place the vehicle in Service Mode Plus. See Service Mode Plus.
  6. Perform the following routine using Service Mode or Toolbox (see 0005 - Service Modes): PROC_VCFRONT_X_RESET-FRUNK-OPEN-FAIL-METRICvia Service Mode Plus:Closures ➜ Frunk ➜ Frunk Latch Metric Resetvia Toolbox:(link)
