Door Glass - Rear - LH (Remove and Replace)

Remove

  1. Remove the LH rear door trim panel. See Panel - Door Trim - Rear - LH (Remove and Replace)
  2. Remove the butyl patches that cover the LH rear door regulator isolator clamps.
  3. Temporarily connect the puddle lamp to the LH rear door.

    CAUTION
    Route the wiring harness so it will not be damage when closing the door.
  4. Connect the window switch special tool to the LH rear door harness.
  5. Raise the LH rear window partially for access to the foremost regulator isolator clamp.
  6. Remove the bolt that attaches the rear LH door glass to the foremost regulator isolator clamp.
    8 Nm (5.9 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 10 mm deep socket
    • Flex head ratchet/flex head torque wrench
    • 2 in extension
  7. Raise the LH rear window partially for access to the rearmost regulator isolator clamp.
  8. Remove the bolt that attaches the rear LH door glass to the rearmost regulator isolator clamp.
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 10 mm deep socket
    • Flex head ratchet/flex head torque wrench
    • 2 in extension
  9. Release the LH rear door margin seal from the LH rear door assembly, and then remove the seal from the assembly.
  10. Release the LH C-pillar margin seal from the LH rear door assembly, and then remove the seal from the assembly.
  11. Remove the LH rear door inner belt seal. See Seal - Inner Belt - Rear Door - LH (Remove and Replace).
  12. Remove rear LH door glass from the door assembly.

Install

  1. Inspect the regulator isolator clamps for glass splinters or other debris, and clean them if necessary.

    CAUTION
    Debris and splinters may damage or shatter the new door glass.
  2. Position the rear LH door glass into the LH rear door.
  3. Install the LH rear door inner belt seal. See Seal - Inner Belt - Rear Door - LH (Remove and Replace).
  4. Install the LH C-pillar margin seal onto the LH rear door assembly.
  5. Install the LH rear door margin seal onto the LH rear door assembly.
  6. Install and hand tighten the bolt that attaches the rear LH door glass to the rearmost regulator isolator clamp.
  7. Lower the rear LH door glass partially for access to foremost regulator isolator clamp.
  8. Install and hand tighten the bolt that attaches the rear LH door glass to the foremost regulator isolator clamp.
  9. Raise the window fully.
  10. Close the LH rear door.
  11. Adjust the rear LH door glass. Door Glass - Rear - LH (Adjust).
  12. Disconnect puddle lamp from LH rear door.
  13. Install butyl patches covering the openings for the regulator isolator clamps in the LH rear door .
  14. Install the LH rear door trim panel. See Panel - Door Trim - Rear - LH (Remove and Replace)
  15. Close LH rear door.
  16. Connect a laptop with Toolbox 3 to the vehicle.
  17. Click Actions/Autodiag, and then search for "window".
  18. Click TEST-SELF_VCLEFT_REAR-L_CALIBRATE-WINDOWSearch for routine in ToolboxRear Left Window Calibration, and then click Run and allow the routine to complete.

    Note
    Click X at the top right of the window to close once complete.
  19. Press the LH rear window switch down to the second position to activate the auto-lower function, then raise window switch up to the second position to activate auto-raise function.

    If the window does not lower completely, repeat the previous calibration steps.
  20. Disconnect Toolbox 3 and remove the laptop from the vehicle.
  21. Close the LH front door.
