Door Assembly - Front - LH (Remove and Replace)

Remove
-
Apply masking tape to the LH front
door exterior release handle.
- Open the LH front door and lower the LH front window.
- Remove the LH A-pillar margin front door seal. See Seal - Door - Front - Margin - A Pillar - LH (Remove and Replace).
- Remove the LH front door trim decor. See Decor - Trim - Front Door - LH (Remove and Replace).
- Remove the LH front door trim panel. See Panel - Door Trim - Front - LH (Remove and Replace).

Remove any remaining clip retainers
from the LH front door.
NoteThe number of retainers will vary with each removal.
- Remove the LH front door secondary seal. See Seal - Secondary - Front Door - LH (Remove and Replace).

Remove the plugs (x2) that cover the
openings in the door for access to the LH front regulator mounting guides.
- Remove the LH front door glass. See Door Glass - Front - LH (Remove and Replace).
- Remove the LH front door outer belt seal. See Seal - Outer Belt - Front Door - LH (Remove and Replace).

Disconnect the door mirror assembly
electrical connector, and then release the clip that attaches the electrical harness to
the door.

Remove the bolts (x3) that attach the
door mirror assembly to the door.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 13 mm socket
-
Carefully lift the LH door mirror
assembly upward to remove it from the vehicle.
-
Pull the white tab to release the
connector lock, and then disconnect the LH front door handle controller electrical
connector.
-
Disconnect the LH front door pressure
sensor electrical connector.
NoteDO NOT push down on the red locking tab. Pull the tab away from the connector until the connector is unlocked, and then continue pulling to release the connector.

Remove the bolts (x6) that attach the
LH front door closeout panel to the door assembly.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 8 mm socket
- 2 in extension

Release the latch cable grommet from
the closeout panel assembly, and then route the grommet and cable through the
opening.

Release the clips (x2) that attach the
wiring harness to the LH front door closeout panel assembly, and then remove the
closeout panel from the vehicle.
NoteRelease clips from back of the panel to prevent damage.
- Remove the LH front door speaker. See Speaker - Front Door - LH (Remove and Replace).

Remove the bolts (x4) that attach the
LH front door speaker spacer ring to the door assembly, and then lift the ring up and
away to remove it from the door assembly.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 8 mm socket
- Remove the LH front window regulator from the door assembly. See Window Motor/Regulator Assembly - Front - LH (Remove and Replace).
- Disconnect the window switch special tool.
- Remove the LH front door latch. See Latch - Door - Front - LH (Remove and Replace).

Release the clip that attaches the LH
front door exterior handle electrical connector to the LH front door, release the
connector lock, and then disconnect the LH front door exterior handle electrical
connector.

Remove the butyl patch and plug that
cover the LH front door exterior handle fastener access holes.

Remove the nuts (x4) that attach the
LH front door exterior handle to the door assembly.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 10 mm deep socket
-
Remove the LH front door exterior
handle through the access opening.
- Remove the LH front door harness. See Harness - Front Door - LH (Remove and Replace).

With assistance, remove the bolts (x4)
that attach the LH front door to the vehicle, and then remove the door from the
vehicle.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 13 mm socket
Install
-
With assistance, position the LH front
door onto the vehicle, and then install the bolts (x4) that attach the door to the
vehicle.
Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 13 mm socket

Position the LH front door harness
into the door, and then install the clips (x9) that attach the harness to the
door.
-
Install the LH front door exterior
handle electrical connector retaining clips.
-
Feed the LH front door wiring harness
through the door and into the body of the vehicle seating both grommets (x2), and then
attach the retaining clip.
-
Connect the VC left electrical
connectors (x2), and then fasten the clip that attaches the wiring harness to the
vehicle.
- Install the LH lower A-pillar trim. See Trim - A-Pillar - Lower - LH (Remove and Replace).
- Install the LH middle A-pillar trim. See Trim - A-Pillar - Middle - LH (Remove and Replace).

Position the LH front door handle assembly into the door, and then loosely install
the nuts that attach the assembly to the door.
NoteApply 222 Loctite to the nuts before installing.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 10 mm deep socket

Align the LH exterior door handle, and
then tighten the nuts (x4) that attach the door handle to the door assembly.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 10 mm deep socket

Install butyl patch and plug that
cover the LH front door handle fastener access holes.
Note1x butyl, 1x plug

Connect the harness to the LH front
door handle assembly, and then engage the locking tab.
NoteMake sure the connector is fully seated.
-
Carefully maneuver the LH front door
latch assembly around the window regulator into position, and then route the release
cable underneath the door harness assembly.
-
Connect the LH front door latch
assembly connector, and then secure the locking tab.
-
Install the clips (x2) that attach the
LH front door release cable and harness to the door assembly.
NoteEnsure the release cable is routed underneath the door harness assembly.

Install new bolts (x2) that attach the
LH front door latch to the door assembly.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- Torx T45 socket
- Flex head ratchet/flex head torque wrench

Partially install the LH front window
regulator into the door opening with enough clearance to access the motor harness
electrical connector.
-
Connect the LH front window regulator
motor electrical connector.
-
Secure the LH front window regulator
into the lower mounts.
-
Secure the LH front window regulator
into the upper mounts.
-
Install the screws (x3) that attach
the LH front window regulator motor to the door assembly.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- Torx T30 socket
-
Install the upper nuts (x2) that
attach the LH front window regulator to the door assembly.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 10 mm socket
-
Install the butyl patches that cover
the access openings to the upper LH front regulator mounting nuts.
-
Install and hand-tighten the lower
nuts that attach the LH front window regulator to the door assembly.
Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 10 mm socket
-
Raise the LH front window regulator isolator clamps fully.
-
Position the LH front door speaker spacer ring onto the door assembly, and then
install the bolts (x4) that attach the spacer ring to the door assembly.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 8 mm socket
-
Position the LH front door speaker onto the spacer ring, and then install the screws
(x4) that attach the speaker to the spacer ring.

Connect the LH front door speaker
electrical connector.
-
Route the latch cable grommet through
the opening in the LH front door closeout panel, and then install the grommet into the
closeout panel assembly.
-
Install the bolts (x6) that attach the
LH front door closeout panel to the door assembly.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 8 mm socket
- 2 in extension

Fasten the clips (x2) that attach the
wiring harness onto the LH front door closeout panel assembly.
NoteMake sure there is an audible click to fully engage the clip.

Connect the LH front door pressure
sensor electrical connector, and then engage the connector lock.
-
Connect the LH front door handle
controller electrical connector, and then engage the connector lock.
-
Position the LH exterior door mirror
assembly onto the door, align the guide rail onto the front laminated side glass, and
then install the bolts (x3) that attach the assembly to the door.NoteMake sure the wiring harness connector is inboard of the doorNoteFailure to install the fasteners using the following sequence can result in NVH issues.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 13 mm socket

Connect the door mirror electrical
connector, and then secure the harness clip onto the door.
- Install the LH front door outer belt seal. See Seal - Outer Belt - Front Door - LH (Remove and Replace).
- Install the LH front door glass. See Door Glass - Front - LH (Remove and Replace).

Position the LH front door glass into
the door assembly.
- Install the LH front door inner belt seal. See Seal - Inner Belt - Front Door - LH (Remove and Replace).

Install and hand-tighten the bolts
(x2) that attach the LH front door glass to the LH front regulator isolator
clamps.
Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 10 mm socket

Pull the LH front exterior door handle
to release the latch.
NoteThis will allow window to drop and not contact the bright trim.

Position the LH front door seal onto
the door assembly, and then secure the clips (x9) that attach the seal to the
assembly.

Position the LH front seal onto the
door assembly, and then secure the clips (x4) that attach the seal to the
assembly.
-
Install the A-pillar margin seal onto
the LH front door.
NotePartially open and close the door as needed to access the seal.

Secure the clips (x3) that attach the
A-pillar margin seal to the LH front door.
- Adjust the LH front door glass. See Door Glass - Front - LH (Adjust).
- Reinstall the software. See Firmware Reinstall - Touchscreen.

On the touchscreen, touch
.Software version 2023.12 or later is required for the function to be available through the touchscreen.
- In the door handle calibration screen, touch Calibrate for the Front Left door handle.

On the touchscreen, touch
.Software version 2023.12 or later is required for the function to be available through the touchscreen.
- In the next screen, touch Calibrate Windows.
- Remove the masking tape from the LH front door exterior handle.
- Verify that the LH front door exterior handle functions properly.
